Lost it with a L played delivery scooter on my way back. 3 times in a row I pulled up to the lights, in a clear lane, he comes past to sit in the cyclist advanced stop box directly in front of me...

He wasn’t perturbed by the increasingly close passes so he 4th time he got an earful, to which I was told “it’s none of your business where I stop”...the fact it was, because the cretin was stopped directly in front of me...

Thankfully I made the next set of lights and lost him shortly after.
I always move over if I see something rapidly approaching behind me when filtering. On L's and now without.

Last week filtering down the Sidcup bypass next to Dinogolf I got beeped out the way... I was filtering at 35 in a 40 so not hanging about and moved across when I could.. Some people eh. We arrived at the next set of lights at the same time. Not sticking up for them as I was one and cringe thinking about some of the stupid st I thought was acceptable at the time, but it can sometimes be someone with a proper licence too wink

I got you the first time but I had no choice in getting the thing home as all I had was a backpack. It's home now and it's staying at home until I can find a proper bag for the pillion seat.

The plan was always to put the chain on the pillion seat in a bag secured to the bike somehow. I'm just trying to figure out how to get the thing through the frame as it's currently too big to fit between the frame and the wheel. I don't really want to buy a thinner chain. Any ideas?
What about an anti-pinch pin?

Use a D lock through the chain and through the frame ?

A tad fresh this morning. Gritters were out in force yesterday afternoon so i'll need to give the bike a good rinse of tonight no doubt.

I carried it home in my bag last night but it’s too heavy to do it regularly. I think my backpack can also be a tail bag but I need to check.
Just to be clear, I meant that if you happened to fall off and land on your back, it could break your spine...

Send me a PM. I've got a chain bag that straps to the seat with velcro straps that's surplus. I can email you some pics and you're welcome to it if it suits. I got it with a lock and chain years ago but never really used it.

Today was the last day I'll ever ride my current bike to work and is the first time I've ever came properly close to having an accident with another vehicle. Land Rover pulled out on me on a quiet roundabout then decided to do an emergency stop. My front tyre made the slightest contact with their rear bumper. Managed to stay chilled after a quick 'fkING tt!!!!'.

Brrrr, that was bloody cold this morning. Coldest I've been this winter so far.

Had not one but two people pull straight out on me last night on the way home, two completely separate incidents, I'm never complacent but haven't had that for some time now.

Decided to ditch the bike this morning and take the car. Glad i did, as the car span its wheels all the way up the lane to the main road on the frost/ice on the road. The perils of living away from the gritted roads i guess.

Be careful out there folks

-3c when I left this morning. Thermals on so was nice and toasty. Left early to get in early and ended up getting in late...

Something big on the M25 as the bottom of the m20 was buggered.

-1 when I left this morning. Kept it slower than normal as I was terrified I’d fall off.

Traffic was totally buggered going from Rose Hill to South Wimbledon as they’ve shut the road, which is going to be shut for the next 3 months according to roadworks website. Then as I got past that there was more traffic all the way up Haydons Road as they’d shut the bridge over the railway meaning I had to divert right and go round the houses past earlsfield to get into Fulham.

My 40 minute commute took an hour 10 today. And it was cold. Spent my time at traffic lights with hands on the engine trying to warm up.

Going to have to find a new route to work whilst Wimbledon is screwed.

Weather wasn't great this morning - freezing mizzle/fog that blocked the visor and some patchy Ice.

Likely related to the other I had to stop and help another biker that had a low-speed drop between Sydenham and Brockley just before I got there, thankfully both the bike and rider looked to be ok.

Electric pushbike down all the footpaths. Flashing lights and horns for the smartphone zombies and you’re golden!

On the way home yesterday it was a fair bit slippier than I thought and ended up entering a lovely slide. Thankfully I kept off the brakes and the bike just kept moving when it regained traction.

Horrible drizzle today that made it impossible to see anything, couldn't keep wiping my visor as was in traffic using the clutch so ended up just opening the visor so I could actually see where I was going.

Nearly ran over a schoolgirl on the way to work this morning as well yikes , narrow road with cars coming the other way so I was fairly close to the pavement and she just decided to step into the road to cross to the other side without looking censored She wasn't playing with a phone and she didn't have earphones in either confused Thankfully a fistful of brake, ABS and very good tyres meant we both got to continue on our merry way. When she did realise what had nearly happened, she seemed totally nonplussed too!

Well it seems I can hang up my commuting gloves. Starting a new job and it's 1.5 miles from my house - seems a waste and not very mechanically sympathetic to take any of the bikes.

On the plus side it means I've got time in the evenings now for some leisure rides smile

On the M20 this morning, outside lane & see a bike coming up behind me so speed up a little bit & check my mirror to now see 2 bikes sat side by side - it was the police..

Moved over, 1 bike pulled along side & signalled for me to pull over so I started too and then they both just took off again - very lucky for me I'd say biggrin

Interesting, I'm an M20er too and I don't know that I have EVER seen plod patrolling! My cruising speed is normally rather above what they might be happy with (just like absolutely everyone else) so I'll bear that in mind!

Cyclist in the right hand only lane this morning blocking traffic whilst he was slowly riding up the inside of stationary traffic to then go straight on.

L platers riding without lifesavers when changing direction.

L platers leaving indicators on because they're too busy playing with their handlebar mounted phone - this also meant not wearing gloves inside their muffs.

I've been driving for 10 years but I've only recently passed my DAS and genuinely think CBT shouldn't exist and a full license should be mandatory - or at the very least a theory pass.

Apart from that very enjoyable as usual. Still getting used to my new bike, I think the carbon build up has sealed up the exhaust I fitted last weekend as it doesn't smoke and smell bad at lights. Going to need to wash my gear though as it's filthy from all this rain and fog we've been having.

No commute tomorrow as I'm in London Bridge for training which means getting the train. I could take the bike but no doubt it won't be there when I leave!

I think the CBT has its uses and can really benefit some people who can't use ordinary transport. I think the line should be drawn that you cannot ride for business (ie delivery driver). But social and commuting would be fine.
