yeah. I presume since they couldn't cut them off (+2 disc locks) they've put it in a van. So lost me about 400 quid in chains too.

frown Sad that it almost seemed inevitable.

Really sorry mate. As above, it does seem it was always going to happen.

Will you have something else? Any ideas? If it's just basic transport then maybe something Chinese will be unappealing enough?

What. A. bd.
I guess no-one saw anything...

Time for something small enough to park indoors?

Isn't the tmax the most nicked scooter in london atm with all these scrote moped gangs on the loose? Honestly speaking having seen the videos of them trying to lift ducatis in briad daylight out of places like berkely square I'd sadly say it is a question of when not if a bike gets nicked these days. Given they seem quite prepared to go at it with angle grinders I don't think there is any security bar a small block of semtex and a detonator that will discourage the little sts.

Just read this start to finish as I couldn't sleep, OP I genuinely feel for you. I did wonder where the thread was going, unfortunately it was going to happen.

It amazes me how brazen they are in I presume broad daylight as to cut down a sign post.
And infuriates me that modern day society no one said anything, someone would have se3n it happening and turned a blind eye.

Exactly why i avoid the Capital at all costs.

Problem is there aren't enough coppers to be able to respond quickly enough, and as a member of the public what do you do? I'm not going to get an angle grinder in the face just for someone else's bike.

Film it and put it on youtube, still a bit risky, but even then you probably won't get much response.

Is a low value motorbike less likely to be stolen than a scooter?

What I've read suggest that high value bikes and scooters are the most at risk?

the scooters are then used for further theft - so they don't want something with gears and clutch to managed whilst they snatch a mobile phone?

Aghhh. These scrotes make me so angry. The fact that they just feel they can do what they want and take what they want without earning it.

Sorry to hear this.

Scum frown

As a further aside have had no issue in London with my tatty, never cleaned CBR600f or a tatty, never cleaned CBR125R (although the latter was stolen once and attempted a further two times when parked at home)

bds had it away! How could they cut through a bloody post without anyone calling the bloody useless police!

Its ok though.. plod will be pointing radar guns at you for breeching the limit by 4mph.

London is a great place to live. Its just the scum control has been failing somewhat.

I assume that you had the chains wrapped around various bits of bodywork and wheels? So it was practically immobile unless the chains are cut also?

So possibly a lift and shift job by the look of it? Which means a van. Local CCTV?

I'm really sorry OP. These entitled scum think they're untouchable. Sadly the law seems to agree.

What can you say to this apart from hoping they crash it head on into a wall and die a slow painful death.

The thing is, it's really proved that you can't have a decent bike without it getting nicked, if you have to park on the street.

Most bikes get nicked cos idiots use a £10.99 oxford products chain which I could open with my dick, or a disclock made of oxford special cheese. I made sure they couldn't get mine by using multiple decent locks, but I was limited by what I could lock it to. On the street it's pot luck if a lamppost is available between cars, on this occasion it wasn't. Can't park on pavement as you get a parking ticket! fking s.

Until councils take it fking seriously and provide plentiful proper bays with major ironwork to lock to, bike theft is going to continue running at over a 1500 a month, and using them to commit over 50,000 crimes a year.

There's an epidemic as the scrotes have realised they can get their hands on free money.

Genuinely can't understand why you still live there/in London.
OK, I'm late responding to this one, but here's some reasons that people don't move.

Stamp duty, it can be a couple of hundred thousand pounds to move.
Work, I work a few minutes from home, and so have a short commute.
Environment, I live near wonderful restaurants and bars, in a beautiful flat on the waterfront. I don't want to live out of the centre of town yet.

I've had several scooters stolen, and it's utterly infuriating, but £4K a year for a new one is not even vaguely enough of an issue to make me up sticks and leave town.

I lived in commuterville once, and absolutely hated it.

Surely it doesn't cost 4k a year if you use insurance?

Sorry, I didn't mean live elsewhere and work in London. I meant just not be near London at all...!
But each to their own.
