Yes but I have a disc lock on the front and some had splashed on. So then I have to wash my hands after, it's just not very nice having to touch it! One time some had gone on the almax chain cover and again it's just not nice having to handle it if it's had spray on it. Remember I have to do it envy day so it's bloody annoying!
I will leave the bike on th side stand tonight as that should mean th over reaches to the floor, so I'll see if that works (previously have always had it on main stand)
Just get some marigolds and put then on the seat, or somewhere you can get to them without having to touch the cover. I will leave the bike on th side stand tonight as that should mean th over reaches to the floor, so I'll see if that works (previously have always had it on main stand)
As for worrying about the scooter being pissed on in general, then you've got some serious problems. Do you worry about the lightly diluted dog st in the mud that hits you, or the general filth in the air in London.

Also, I'd like to think it's a cat and not a dog.
You might feel better believing that, but that clearly been left by a dog. When cats mark their territory it's a much smaller amount of piss, though probably stinks worse.TheLordJohn said:
As a dog owner, I don't let my dog piss on other people's property.
Unfortunately there are plenty of scummy dog owners who don't give a rats arse about either their pet or other people.OP, have you tried one of the dog repellent sprays?

Well this morning someone had also chucked a Pepsi can on it (the cover) which has led to the remnants of the can leaking down the cover. I've had to bring the cover into my shower to spray / wipe it down as it was all sticky!
People in alleys are just fking scum, end of. I hate to get all brexit but nearly all of the drunkards I've seen up till now have been polish who look virtually homeless / dirty / clearly not working.
I'm probably going to go back to using lampposts but with two chains and my cover. The difficulty with lampposts is round here it's all cpz so no guarantee of getting the same one each time as it depends on what cars have parked during the day. moving house is not really possible,

Well looking at the pics you've finally got it locked front and rear and covered as I suggested so security wise you have done pretty much everything possible without moving. So on that part thats great I suggested something you've gone with! The fact the cover was on mean't the pepsi wasn't over the scooter.. the cover takes the sh*te the scooter/bike doesn't

Does the cover matter that much? The way you're banging on about it, you'd think it needed its own cover. People in alleys are just fking scum, end of. Seems more and more bikes are getting stolen by simply being picked up and stuck in a van. They get taken at any opportunity. A friend lost one whilst having lunch in a pub one afternoon with the bike parked out the front of the pub. Disklocks and chains draped through wheels are not going to stop this. I've taken to hauling a chain round with me everywhere and attaching the bike to something.

FYI Squire have just launched a new "SS80CS" lock that is more of a deterrent against this type of attack, especially when used with a close-fitting lock as it has a 16mm thick shackle (that you'd still have to cut twice). It's twice the weight of the SS65CS so you wouldn't want to carry it around.
Are you going to make an anti Pinch Pin that fits with this new lock? I've a gaggle of Almax chains, SS65s, Abloy 362s and Pinch Pins securing a number of things and would upgrade to the 80 if it adds an additional element of difficulty for thieves to get through. How does the 362 compare to the SS65CS and the SS80CS? foxsasha said:

How does the 362 compare to the SS65CS and the SS80CS? The PL362 is a brilliant lock, but not with a chain. It has such a wide opening under the shackle that the shackle becomes the weak point. I'd say it's a mistake to use the PL362 with anything bigger than a 16mm chain. A 16mm or anything smaller is not so bad as the shackle on the PL362 is up around that thickness anyway. There's a video on YouTube of someone boltcropping the shackle on the smaller PL342, which demonstrates the same concern - a smaller lock with a smaller chain, but the shackle is too exposed so that's what goes.
In case anyone's interested, we will be exhibiting our stuff at the Police Bikesafe National Show this Saturday 16th July at Rockingham race track. This time, and rather interestingly, they're doing a joint event with the California Superbike School, with low-cost taster sessions with them on the track in addition to the usual Bikesafe supervised rides out on the road.
We'll be there with our security stuff in one of the pit garages. We will have a variety of our stuff on display, including our new 22mm chain, which is absolutely heeeeooooge! Several manufacturers will be there, too, so there should be the chance of test rides on a variety of kit if you're interested.
It's only a one-day event, unlike the bigger Bikesafe events of a few years ago that spanned a weekend. This one is Saturday 10am - 5pm.
They've always been good and popular, and the long line of Police bikes has always been rather an impressive sight. The unmarked R1 and the Police Harley have been interesting variety in the past :-)

Say Hi to us if you come along.

In the next thrilling episode of my life....someone has damaged my scooter!
Jeez. Some muppet has (presumably) pulled into, or backed up into, the side of my scooter while parked last night, or Friday night. I notice a panel not fitting properly, and when I looked further, saw the damage. It has cracked the side pod like an eggshell, and marked up the akrapovic exhaust - those swirly marks weren't there before. Also small nick in the aluminium handle just above. Luckily the exhaust doesn't seem to be bent, although the hanger is a bit. They must have actually whacked it quite hard to be honest, not just a slight squeeze. The thick cover I have over the bike protected it a bit I think, but was sort of shredded where it had got crushed between the vehicle and my scooter.
So, another £105 quid on a new panel (I have to say luckily Yamaha bodywork seems to be priced quite reasonably IMO). God knows how they did it cos I park pointing down the road a bit, at an angle as shown. This actually makes the particular area they've hit very hard to reach - it seems like they would have had to go up on the pavement a bit. But we all know how st some drivers are at car control.
