I reckon that's been over on its side and then been righted again and the damage is from the kerb. Is that possible with the chain on it?

Where do you live?

I would say the same and it is possible with the chain on have seen plenty of scooters on their sides in London with chains still attached

I thought the same, OP should check bar end and mirror for damage, or the rear wheel if the chain was tight enough to stop it falling all the way over.

Well my Easter present was such. It would seem that since they can't nick now nick the bike, other actions will occur. Nice eh.

What I noticed as I approached. So top box trashed:

Notice anything missing?

to do this they simply lay the bike on it's side, as who cares about plastics if they're not yours

also nicked the sports screen I had paid for and even the muffs, what a bunch of cheapskates

luckliy I hadn't bothered replacing the front mudguard from when they last tried to nick it or that would have been broken again, as they tipped the bike off the main stand I had left it on:

my long lost exhaust:

sports screen:

they nicked the entire thing including the front pipes:

Sometimes people cant get a local garage, nor can they afford to simply just up sticks and move to a respectable area where this wouldnt happen.

Think the real issue is there is s in this country that wont think twice about doing this and should be fking hung, drawn and quartered sending their carcass to the four points on the kingdom to send a message, that this kinda ste wont be tolerated.

While I totally agree, it shouldn't happen - it does - and it will continue happening until the Police aren't getting budget cuts and regular patrols are a thing again.

Personally I don't understand why you'd put an Akra on a moped, it will just make it more of a target, doesn't really do anything aside from making it more desirable to tea-leaves (if you want a noisy pipe I'm sure you could buy a noisy "standard" looking pipe).

I'd probably sell it and buy something less tempting.

I think it's less budget cuts and more liberal values that have caused us to be in the mire we're in, personally.
Budget cuts, quite clearly, won't help with regards to the number of people we can employ to do a job.
But if the punishments genuinely fitted the crime, then a lot less crime would be carried out.

If the authorities had the stones to go after real criminals rather than just enforce 'compliance by technology' on everyone we'd be much better off.

Truth is that law enforcement is getting more lazy, petty and cowardly by the day, no doubt due to the influence of politicians & senior management (basically the same thing anyway).

Great response.

fking thieving bds. OP I think you'll have to face facts and get something less steal worthy. Although you shouldn't have to as a principle, I think by necessity you'll have to.

Or just leave the bike as it is. Get a standard exhaust and a standard screen. Keep locking it up and hopefully they will leave it alone as they can't take it and they have stolen all the bits worth having a go at.. the fking bds.

Yeah I've got a standard pipe on the way, and still have the original screen. I am planning to put it back together with new plastics and sell it. Not sure whether to get a cheap crappy scooter that has no nickable bits on it, or a different motorbike.

I could have my dad's cbr600rr below which I figure will be less nickable to these numpties, as most of them probably can't change gear, but on the other hand don't want to see that get knackered too.
