Yamaha MT10 - Anyone seen one?
Discussion
I've seen and sat on one!
Quality wise spot on! Position is good if you are after a fazer like bike it is more upright than my s1000r and from memory the tunno if you have been on a mt09 it's a similar position.
Rear foot pegs are really close the riders so if like me you ride with your toes on the pegs and with size 8 feet your heels will be catching the rears.
Saw blue and they grey with fluresone wheels, the blue suits it better, and the rear end just like the 09 looks like a after thought.
Spec wise is way down on the Bmw but then so is the price, the ones I looked at had prices of £9995
Obivously I didn't ride one I believe they hit show rooms June or July can't remember what was said now
For me I will be sticking with the Bmw.
So wish Yamaha just ripped the fairing off a r1 and called it done.

I am after the S1000r but I want to wait on the MT10 and test ride one, then decide. I want one do it all bike to replace my sport and tourer bikes.
The BMW is great but the engine has a big lump of power in the midrange and tails off, also it's a normal 4 cyl, I am hoping the MT10 will be better with it's big bang 4 cyl after you add the optional heated grips and quickshifter, it still does not have the BMW suspension though.

I'm 100% sure I saw one 2 weeks ago; going through Bromsgrove in the West Midlands.
It was the black with the neon yellow/green wheels and detail. I'm fairly certain it had an aftermarket/uprated exhaust as it sounded like a cross between a V-twin and a bloody great big Yank V8 as it launched off the line.
If it was (and I'm fairly convinced it was), it looks a lot better in the flesh and sounds incredible.
ETA: Pic of colour I saw:
If they're not out yet, I'm guessing the one I saw was a test model for the dealers or something.

I am comparing prices and also spec...
The other contributing factor is the engine character, which the Yamaha has in spades in the big bang motor.
BMW Sport at 11.5k comes with heated grips cruise control and the fancy suspension.
Yamaha at 10.5k comes the same but no suspension from my understanding. Is the engine character a more worthwhile option then the fancy suspension?

Never ridden them so can't comment really, but I struggle with idea of trading in the electronics and suspension package on the BMW for what is basically just a pleasing soundtrack on the MT-10.
That said, like many, I like Yamaha's and not so much BMWs, that will be enough for some.

fair point but the Yamaha comes with the full electronics package also. The only thing that is lacking is the BMW's suspension. Which is a 1k difference. That said, like many, I like Yamaha's and not so much BMWs, that will be enough for some.
However the soundtrack is just the thing... its the power delivery and how tractable the motor feels. The big bang firing order gives a nice torquey characterful feel. I have heard the BMW is a littly buzzy.
Still 1k for the suspension is a bit of bargain.
Personally I think the transformer MT10 looks better the the squinty BMW, which isn't hard. However the BMW is massive value for money.
If the MT10 had been priced at £9999 I just feel it would have been a done deal.

No sure about QS but it does have slipper clutch and heated grips with cruise control.
BMW if formidable machine without a doubt.
Heated grips seem to be a cost option looking on the yamaha website, cruise is standard.BMW if formidable machine without a doubt.
Couldn't find any info re QS.
