That is spot on.

A really nice bike you've got there. Make sure you ride it like you've stolen it!

Watching with interest. Had an RGV back in late 90's and now keep scouring the internet for a nice one. I know some things are better left as a good memory but then would just stick it in the lounge to look at. Keep us updated.

Excellent buy, values of all strokers only going in one direction. Hence my decision to but a GT185 and a GT250 to sit in my garage alongside my existing GT550.

A Bit more progress, got pistons today, got the pistons and bores measured very accurately, so biggest piston went in the biggest hole, very very slight differences but may aswell.
Measuring piston popping out the top, so i can fit optimum gaskets for preffered squish..

Some cosmetic stuff, powder coated subframe, all the nuts and bolts treated to a mild citric bath to clean up oxidation

Took the plunge (literally) and dropped a caliper in the Citric (very mild food additive)) acid overnight, results are pleasing, i've chucked the whole brake system in now. This is the stuff i used on an 80's BMX frame (common practice) it didnt even touch the stickers! so thought i'd give it a try..

Is it a trick of the light or does the port on the right hand side beside the rings look a bit on the rough side.

Got the previously scratched panels back, they are flawless now. The pearl was flicked in so edge to edge is still the old paint, so next step is to get the genuine stickers applied.

I remember about four years ago i bought two of these for 500 quid, they had both sat outside for years, they both fired up with fresh fuel after a couple of kicks, wish i still had them, just restored them for something to do of an evening and sold them on.
