Yesterday I came across a lovely black VTR on the A23. Well ridden! Sounded stunning and looked gorgeous. Absolutely beautiful and made me jump straight on to eBay when I got home. Lucky chap.

Probably rushing home before the camchain tensioner fails!!

My Dad had one, loved it, think of it as a twin cylinder CBR600, real world performance and handling/brakes to suit.

He only sold after the 2nd CCT failure left it with a RAC rescue & bent valves.

If by VTR you mean an SP1 or 2 (RC51) then yes they are fantastic bikes, I have one and wouldn't part with it unless I fell on hard times.

The RC1 has gear driven cams so no chain tensioner in one of those lovely lumps!

Yep - that'll be rather special. I think the RCV will only invigorate interest and prices of these.

The combination of gear driven cams and the thumping V-twin makes for a unique noise unlikely to be ever repeated. Sublime bike that oozes quality and class. I would rather sell my 1098R than the SP2.

Honda Newcastle had a really cool orange coloured VTR last year. Only a couple of grand, I imagine it would have sold fairly easily.
