Looking for some advice if possible.

I have a NC30 that I have owned for nearly 17 years. Its always been maintained mechanically, but visually has always looked a bit rough due to a couple of tumbles!

At the moment I have a set of fairing on painted satin black. I do however have a full set of OEM fairings, but these require painting.

The problem im faced with is the bikes not worth a great deal as it stands, and I will never sell it. So do I bite the bullet and spend circa £800 to have them painted, or do I buy Chinese copies in the correct colours for around £350?

Im swinging more towards the Chinese as I only want the bike to look visually better. Im not really bothered about everything being OEM.

If anyone has any information on the Chinese copies or experience in fitting them, I would be great full to hear.

My brother had chinese copies on his NC30 some years ago, from memory they were actually pretty good. This photo was taken in about 2008 so the quality could have got worse/better, but they looked alright. (obviously in SP2 colours not originals though)

From things I have read on here and elsewhere fitting chinese ones aren't always bad but can be a PITA as it doesn't go through the same quality controls you may expect of a reputable company.

I'd personally look into painting the fairings or possibly wrapping them. I'm sure a chap on here just had some paint for £350?

I can't remember who it was though! Check the pic a day thread of the trackday thread.

I've got Chinese ones.
They require a bit of work to fit as the moulds are not entirely accurate.
I've got a spare set minus the nose cone, that snapped at the mirror mount, it you're interested.

I done a wee bit research before ordering Auctmart fairings which were a perfect fit. Not one panel was ill fitting. My only criticism is that emblems and fonts were ever so slightly off but to the untrained eye its unnoticeable.

Got pumped by customs and had to pay about £350 all in if I remember right.

Did you guys paint to tank to match the after market fairing or did the fairing paint already matched the tank?

Thanks

Mine didn't match. The blue was different which was and still is annoying.
I think though you can specify the actual colour you want.

When I bought my Fireblade the fairings were beyond economical repair so I went down the Chinese route and had the tank painted to match. They were a fiddle to fit but I took my time and made sure everything lined up. I'm really pleased with the results.

Depending on the colour I'd be interested in a spare set if you could add me to the list!
I love my NC30 and have been considering new Chinese fairings, but need to refurbish the wheels too smile
Red, white and blue (well pink, off-white and blue anyway).
Cheers,
Tom
