OK, i was just curious. I do recall some V4's in the pit lane at Snetterton last year so they must have passed.

I run an AR can on mine but valve in

Honestly it's not that loud unless on full chat or when you very first start it as the valve opens for a split second

If you want obnoxious listen to an MT10 or new R1 with a pipe and decat... That is unbelievable and makes mine sound standard

As for Snett... That place annoys me, it's my local as brands although closer is boring unless gp and then stupid expensive

Snett though have the tightest 102db I've known. My gsxr 750 with a lextek pipe and ti headers would blow 101 at tracks except there. Honestly it was so quiet, never even got close to drive by noise limit but it would blow 104 static unless I fitted the baffle

WOW - What year is yours??!!! That's an amazing price. How many miles? You have the APRC model right? Good for you! smile

I am itching to get out on track. Need to be sensible.

Sell Kwack
Sell R1
Ride 750 see how it goes and decide on new model (used) R1 or RSV4R smile

I have to agree. AR and SC Projects as diabolical in sound. I can't see the point if the exhaust precludes Donnington and Snetterton. I prefer the Akra full systems. My R1 has one and it passes every noise test and still pushes 177 at the wheel on the MSG Dyno.

I'm happy to have quieter but pass every noise test.

That is the least helpful helpful thing anyone has ever done. That's achievable with a bit of vehicle shuffling around and man maths. Damn you!

Mines a 2009 Factory, so pre APRC and ABS. One of the first off the line. 14500 miles, FASH. But still, when I bought it there was 2 others for sale, same year, mileage, model, spec and they were 8k... guy wanted a quick sale I think? It was a punt but I've had the bike checked out top to bottom and it's all good!

Exhausts are a personal thing, personally I love them loud. I'm pretty sure I'm going to be swapping the arrow for something a little fruitier. Knockhills my local and they don't noise test at all, so no big deal for me...

£6300 is an absolute steal, I paid £8500 for my 2009 two years ago and even when I sold it a year later I got nearly £7k on the trade in at the Yam dealer!

Yeah. I was browsing the bay late at night and it popped up. Had only been added 2 hours ago but I thought fk this, it's too good not to take a punt on! Even if it was a lemon you could break it for parts and get your money back! The guy was selling off his collection for a deposit on one of these v4 nortons.

Yes the noise tester at Snett can be a funny bugger at times. My GSXR1000 with a yoshi and de cat is loud, so i bought a genuine baffle and it passes easily. But interestingly i have now had it remapped and it appears to be alot louder. I think it is because they have opened the valves and secondary butterflies? So with the baffle in, it may fail. We shall see.

I paid £9200 for mine last April- 2011 Factory APRC with a full Akra system, Race ECU, rearsets and tail tidy plus all standard bits.
I think they hold their value because there aren't many to choose from.

I think the prices are taking a small hit because the 2017 has a TFT dash, autoblipper, cruise control and heated grips.

That pushes the 2016 factories down and the earlier bikes down a bit further.

I paid £7500 for my 2011 with some levers and a screen.

These are some bargain prices now!

I think the new ones are 15k! That's a lot for a naked bike.

Yep it's why I went for a new 66 plate 2016 model. I paid £12,800 brand new

Only really miss the blipper which my mv agusta had but I can live without the other bits

I'll leave it for maybe another year or 2 and maybe upgrade then. My GSXR1000K7 is awesome and better than me. I just struggle with spending 9-10k plus on something that gets used a few times a year and the rest of the time it sits in the Garage. I'm also planning and upgrading my car so i'd better keep some money aside for that.

But....never say never!

Bought an AR pipe biggrin

I don't have any spare cash left after all the other bits I've bought, but picked up one of the very first AR slip ons for £260. Selling my Arrow for a similar price so no further harm done to my wallet. Exact same exhaust as in the video below. Bring on the noise!

It lasted less than 500 miles

Rode to St Mary's the other week, the long way, 85 flawless miles. Parked for 20 mins. Started it and the bike started blipping the throttle on it's own and URGENT SERVICE appears on the dash. Sounds like a sack of st. Got it home in a van, bought diagnostic cables, error was 'unexpected air delivery to rear cylinders'. Checked all the easy stuff - no faults found. Rear valve cover off and... all 4 inlet valves have zero clearance. I can't wiggle the 0.05mm guage through the gap. Less than 500 miles ago they had between 0.1mm and 0.15mm. Going to need engine out and heads off to see whats up. Mother fker

I've seen 4 RSV-4's drop valves, hopefully you've caught it and saved a load of heart ache.

Yeah let's hope so. When looking into the inlets, the valves look fine, nothing bent or damaged from what I can see. Still not going to be a cheap one though. Valves going tight after so few miles means something's not right in there!

You have my sympathy mate, you've put a lot of TLC into that on the right areas, sometimes bikes n cars just dont repay you for it, I hope its a straightforward/relatively inexpensive fix.
