I really want to get on a few of these runs out this year. As ever, shifts permitting. I'm working all Easter but that's probably a blessing. I'd rather be out with fewer bikers.
And should anyone be remotely worried about my occupation, don't be.
I agree with you on preferring to be out when its quieter Will, it was stupidly busy last Sunday and there was as usual the occasional tt on the wrong side of the road, eyes on stalks heading towards you who'd misjudged the corner, due to a couple of near misses in recent years I am always worried about bikes coming the other way on busy days, it blunts the fun a bit when you are having to ride defensively and compromise your own visibility around bends to allow for others. And should anyone be remotely worried about my occupation, don't be.
I'm free all weekend if anyone is out but it will be a first light ride for me.

I'm avoid riding out April / Early May for those exact reasons as I do every year. Gives a chance for the knuckle draggers to throw themselves into the scenery and the madness to settle down. I'm free all weekend if anyone is out but it will be a first light ride for me.
I wont be riding over Easter. Standard of riding is usually appalling at best. Just cant be arsed with it.

Was anyone out and about yesterday?
Me and a mate went out via Burnley, Clitheroe, Trough of Bowland, Dunsop Bridge, Caton - Devil's Bridge, then back via Ingleton, Settle, Rathmell, Gisburn etc.
Good ride and first of the year but what really stood out was the state of the roads, especially the smaller ones. Absolutely fked, broken up, great scabs coming off the surface. Never seen them so bad. Not fun on an R1.
The roads dont seem too bad up my way to be honest other than the odd bit of gravel strewn across the bends. Went up to seahouses via ponteland / morpeth / rothbury / alnwick and never really had an issue. Weve had quite a mild winter so maybe thats why the surfaces aren't as bad as normal.Me and a mate went out via Burnley, Clitheroe, Trough of Bowland, Dunsop Bridge, Caton - Devil's Bridge, then back via Ingleton, Settle, Rathmell, Gisburn etc.

What state are the roads in up there at the moment?
