With all the rain, it's likely to be in the middle of the lake by tonight!
Makes you wonder where all the lakes come from The rivers were running very high though and there's still a lot more rain to run off into them. I hope they don't suffer like last time, as many roads are still closed and being rebuilt up there.
Well, it was a cracking weekend up here in the north east, had the bike out for a few hours on saturday for a run over the weardale moors down to Barnard castle and back.
Sunday was more of a quick blat.
Weather seems to have "turned the corner" and the light nights are here - so when is someone (i.e not me!) going to get their finger out and arrange this ride out?

As a starting suggestion - 22nd April? weather dependent.
Two groups? 1. people who can ride fast, and, 2. those that don't want to or can not.
I enjoyed the last one when it was relatively straight and direct roads (with some instructions) and everyone stopped for a piss break, fag, or petrol station which allowed everyone to re-group.
Everyone rode their own pace and i didn't feel like i had to keep up (mainly as i could not).

So when we say NE/NW presumably that's still going to be 'South of the Border'? Quite fancy showing up, but coming down from Fife even Carlisle is 120 miles. Not that I have a problem with 120 miles, but if NE/NW turns out to be Yorkshire then that's a bit of a trek when 30 miles in the opposite direction takes me in to God's own motorcycling country.

Nope no groups, as people have a high opinion of themselves which normally is wrong and they end up riding way beyond their ability, the only thing you need is someone to wait at junctions who knows the route to pick up the stragglers. Two groups? 1. people who can ride fast, and, 2. those that don't want to or can not.

Very good challenge - and totally right. Usually the group naturally divides over the course of the day anyway.
Not on the NW rides it doesn't... as we all take turns to be at the back, to ensure nobody is left behind.Mr OCD, it's your turn this year
