With what? 2 test days, a couple of practise sessions and a race, I think he did fine. Although it's not the bike Rossi rode, it's still known as a difficult bike to ride.
Dovi has spent quite a lot of time on the bike so in my opinion, that argument doesn't hold up. He'll be alright in the end I'm sure.

Just to add fuel to the fire. What about Stoner in testing? Had done small amounts of testing (I'm sure no more in terms of time compared to Jorge) yet was up the top. I'm sure things change during a race but I have no doubts Stoner would still have won. I'll wait for someone to tell me I'm beating a dead horse.

Apples and oranges. Highly unlikely Stoner was riding a bike specced exactly the same as the race bikes. After all... He's testing 
Having just watched the race, I must admit that Zarco (prior to the crash) looked remarkably comfortable at the front. I did think before the season started that he'd be at the pointy end of things, as two championships in Moto2 - the first largely at a canter, and the second hard fought - was not to be sniffed at.
Great to see Iannone up to speed on the Suzuki, as it was to see Mav on the Yam.
It's early days, but it's shaping up to be a very interesting season.

Sure, it can be done, but it's not work of 5 minutes. When Lorenzo gels with the bike and the tyres and finds himself on a circuit in weather conditins that play to his and the bike's strengths, I've no doubt he'll deliver the goods. Granted, that's a lot of caveats/asking for a lot of planets to align, but it can happen (Stoner springs to mind) and let us not forget, when Lorenzo finds the sweet spot, it makes for an amazing spectacle.
