Not sure if you've heard of them; if they can help or not but I have used Elliots in the past and last I visited it was an alladins cave of import bits.
"Sorry we don't do imports any more. Nobody does. I don't know where you got our details".

I was going to reply...

"The link from your up to date website obviously".

...but thought better of it. wink

Well it's been a while since my last update so this is going to be a big one...

...or not because I have been busy. wink

Sorry guys.

Still chasing parts from New Zealand and got a few friends looking in Japan. smile

Right my shed is full of Russians hitting themselves with branches and sweating a lot. Well it should be. I'll wait for the weather to cool down a bit before I get back to work on my bike.

The part search goes on. Mostly bodywork as the rest of it is consumables that are easily available. I may have to redo the plastic welding, use bumper filler and work with what I have at this rate. The new GSXR250 is a twin so I could only use the seat unit if I wanted to go modern style original power. Period race fairings for the RGV and GK's could be a viable alternative if I can do a tidy enough job making them fit around the original lights, brackets and mounts. Modifying the original plastics could be another option. Filling the cracks in the three piece seat unit and making it one part perhaps.

The issue is how I remember the bike and what I had planned "back in the day" is unrealistic now. Also my attitude has changed towards these things and modifying such a rare bike would be sacrilegious.

Maybe make the bike a track day screamer and teach my nephew how to get his knee down. wink

Well. Let's just say things stalled and never got going again.

I've advertised the bike in bits for £500

She's worth £3,000+ restored and there's an incomplete engine on eBay for £299

I'll be forty soon, start a new career tomorrow and as much as I loved my bike back in the day the thought of screaming around on what amounts to a race bike with lights just doesn't appeal.

I think I got over the disappointment of the head gasket being the only thing done when I would have pulled the head apart, cleaned the valves and polished the ports.
