And we REALLY DO want you to see that pulling large groups of bikers muslims may be ‘more efficient’ but, in reality, it is just lazy profiling, that causes resentment in the biking muslim community.

I think the major angst is that Derbyshire police just stand at the side of the road and wave every bike in. The do it indiscriminately, and then see what they can nick you for.
Exactly

this happened to me (and many others)at ladybower cafe a couple of weeks ago.
now if you choose to have a small plate and/or a noisy exhaust then you have to accept the small fines as an occupational hazzard.
however, given that the police had spotter vans, marked and unmarked cars/bikes calling into the roadblock.
why harass the people who are riding within the law?
while i was being run though the database and having an uninvited roadside mot. a car driver on seing the police put down his phone pulled up next to the checkpoint and put on his seatbelt,i pointed this out to the very atrctive lady officer who was interogating me.she didnt care.
i resent the blanket you have a motorcycle you must be guilty of something aproach.

But you've admitted to being guilty of having a small plate and noisy exhaust haven't you?

I avoid the fine for having a small plate by having a standard plate. Its worked really well so far.

I do the same with my exhaust. There was someone today at Devils Bridge who had the most obnoxiously loud and st sounding exhaust that I've heard in a long time. I'm sure he thought he was cool.

You need a tail tidy.

That aside, standard plates on a bike are massive and look ste.
Smaller plates, provided the font is OK and they can still be read easily both look better and are not problematic other than on a technicality.
I have always had smaller plates, in a sensible location and a sensible font. It hasn't been an issue to date.
The problem on a practical level are those that use daft fonts and/or have the plates in idiotic locations (the classic is the plate sat under the rear end and tilted at 45 degrees)

I can't see mine when I'm riding. Unless something has gone hideously wrong.

Other people can though. And so can you when it's parked up.

There probably isn't a single bike that doesn't look far better with a tail tidy/smaller plate or at least a smaller plate.

I could put a smaller plate on my car but that wouldn't improve its appearance (unless it was a POS Rover 75, which it isn't) so I don't.

Most chavvy, slash cut, or open ended exhausts sound awful. Just a racket of noise, that does nothing at all. Austin Racing cans are one of the worst for this.

There's nothing good about a noisy exhaust, other than to attract the kind of attention you don't want. Oh and they don't save lives, as the sound travels backwards from the bike, so doesn't wake up drivers.

No, they are scared to go near them.

They all have cannabis grows going back at the caravan site, but never bust them as it is too much trouble... The acid chucking TOWIE idiot being the latest.
