Yes yes, I'm an old 'un, but I don't mean me.

I'm about to buy a GT750 Kettle (I think, I hope!) which is alive and kicking but could do with some tyres. I believe the sizes are 100/90 19 front and 120/90 18 rear. So, straightforward question - can anyone recommend a tyre brand? I can see Avon Roadrider, Bridgestone BT45, Dunlop Streetsmart, Metzelers…..what say the masses?

I've used the avons, Bridgestones and Dunlops from that list. I'd go for the Dunlops out of those. The bridgestones were very similar to me but didn't last as long and I don't really like the avons. In the wet they aren't as good as the others.

Metzeler do the Sport Klassic in the sizes you need. https://www.fwr.co.uk/product/metzeler-sportec-kla...

Avon had a lot of quality issues (sidewalls cracking) with the Roadrider tyres a few years ago. I dont know if this was ever resolved however I would avoid that series of tyre. Ive had Avon Storm2s and they were fine

Doesn't everyone just recommend PR4's for everything these days...?

hehe

Roadriders seem to be popular. That's what I went for on my Bonnie, but I've not put enough mileage on them to give a first hand account.

I do like Metzelers generally, might try for those then. Altho Viagra Bob's prices aren't the keenest!

I'm using Pirelli Sport Demons on the Guzzi, seem OK to me. Claim to be a tubeless tyre but I need to put tubes in as the wheels are not 'tubeless'.
