Why would you have to remove the caliper? Just undo the allen bolt thingy that goes through the anti-rattle spring (usually with the thread is at the head, if these bolts/pins not the bottom) and the pads will pull out. Than push the pistons back before putting in the new pads. If you don't have a piston spreader tool then use the old pads and lever then back gently against the pistons....and do it one at a time otherwise the other piston can sometime push out as you push the other back in. And watch the fluid level in the master cylinder as it will go back up as you push the pistons back and if you've been topping it up.
They might come out from the rear, the devil is in the specific type. Some pads can only be removed from the front. Anyway, poster asked and I answered to the best of my knowledge. You may know different/better in which case I bow down to your greater knowledge. What do you lever against if the caliper is still on the bike? Also, if you have clean pistons, the other pistons will always want to push out.

Next dumb question!
Having just passed a speed camera is there a recognised way to warn on coming bikers ?
Flashing headlight like a strobe, or waving your arm up and down in a slow down type motion? Having just passed a speed camera is there a recognised way to warn on coming bikers ?
Pretty sure it’s illegal to alert other road users to speed traps but the likelihood of anything happening is extremely low. Just say you thought they were someone you knew!

On a lot of bikes with barn-door screens (like mine) you'd be surprised where the wind is actually coming from. Take a ride with a piece of wool/string or just a bare hand and see what the wind is doing. On mine and lots of similar bikes the problem is not what's coming over the top or round the sides, but air coming up from under the screen. You can get some really strange things like raindrops going upwards between you and the screen, and this upward air mixing with everything else can cause buffeting.
That’s really interesting, I’ve got a new task for this weekend !R TOY said:
I was told that tapping the top of your helmet with the palm of your left hand was the recognised way of warning of a speed camera, just wondered how many bikers new this before I made myself look stupid. Not many maybe !
That's a new one to me!The old skool version if I recall is a thumb down signal (like Ceasar putting someone to death). Any kind of manic hand gesture from an oncoming motorcyclist should be treated as 'slow down'.

Thumbs up for an upward strike through the heart, thumbs down to drop weapons! The old skool version if I recall is a thumb down signal (like Ceasar putting someone to death). Any kind of manic hand gesture from an oncoming motorcyclist should be treated as 'slow down'.
Anyway, any sign that’s not the usual wave should be taken as a warning of something you should probably slow down for, as I’ve found out previously there is no universal sign language for cows on the road!

SBS in Reading had barely any stock on display when I visited last year. They hadn't been open long so perhaps it's better now, but I wasn't impressed.
If you roughly know what you want, you can order it to be delivered to the store so that you can have a look at it when you visitObviously not much help if you are in a rush or don't know what you want
Going to try Infinity tomorrow and see what they have.

Also at the moment it seems certain items have a long lead time , a jacket I wanted to try on had a 5 week lead time from the manufacturer, I think you will find other shops having the same problems. Most retailers of any type seem to be having shortages / long lead times due to various factors outside of their control.

Best way to do it with SBS is go on their website and pick what you want and get it sent to your house or into the shop to look at and try on. That's what I always do and there does not seem to be any limit to how much you can order in.

Thanks. Slightly annoying as I was hoping to at least try some on, but will just have to order and get it delivered. Hi. I have a KTM Duke 790. Yesterday on the way home the screen was shouting at me, it said the ABS & WTS (I think WTS) had failed. A quick look and the ABS cable somehow managed to move itself over to the tyre and burned through the cable to the metal strands. Got home then cut and soldered the 1 cable 2 cores back together which appears to have fixed it.
Question is, how do I turn the Engine Management light off? It's still on but not coming up with the initial error message so I assume all good with the ABS cable.
Thanks
