Dunlop wasn't going all that well before the red flag...

Suzuki really sticking it to Honda, that's how you debut a new bike.

Michael was down in 6th before the stoppage and swapped the whole rear shock in the down time which, IMHO, they shouldn't be allowed to do.

Looks more like something you would have seen Sheene and Roberts racing on - https://www.bennetts.co.uk/bikesocial/news-and-vie...

I didn't say which end!! Just tried to pace it back from the bend before Keppell Gate which is the 33rd.

The clerk of the course said they need to clear road side furniture (straw bails?), I guess it's be a right hander as most of the RHS is a drop/unprotected, so yes, more Gutheries end.
Yeah all air fencing on the lhs of the kink so imagine it got dragged all over the track. Good to see he is relatively ok as its quick there

Latest news on Hutchy is that he's been transferred to Liverpool for treatment on a broken femur.

Sad indeed.

I have a debate going on with a family member and they are of the opinion it should be banned as it's a waste of life. I disagree but sympathise of course but they, and their family know the risks.

What say PH?
As a road racer myself, I am well aware of the risks involved. I have raced with Alan Bonner in the past and he was a great, down to earth guy. A lot of people don't "get" road racing, asking why do we do it and is it all worth it etc. The simple answer is yes. In this day of health and safety and red tape, it is one of the few liberating experiences. Nothing else makes you fell so alive as running flat out down a public road with like minded souls. Long may it continue.
My thoughts and feelings too although my racing was mx and I retired due to a life changing injury. If asked would I risk it all again, I'd do it in a blink

My son now also competes at club level

It's all fair game. Don't forget Hutchy won one of his five after a restart allowed the team to fix an oil leak which would have otherwise made him retire.

As others have said a really good effort from Suzuki and Hawk.

Perhaps Honda are just too big now and designing bikes by committee.

When Martin laughed when asked if pulling out of the Senior was a difficult decision says it all.

HRC are overly glamorised by the racing media at times...
Read Phillip McCallens book and you'll see they were far from cutting edge on the 90's! (Glory days with mccallen/dunlop/fogerty on the roads)
Crop of talented riders have made up for lacklustre equipment at times.

Perhaps Honda race bikes are designed by their F1 engine team, might explain a lot....

Rider of the week (IMO) has to be Peter Hickman. Really impressive.
Dunlop winning is nice, just had an email Friday to say my bike is arriving next week. Finally.
Any doubts I had after MCN's test are long gone.

Great coverage by itv4 and Cam Donald was a good substitute at short notice.

I think he's retired from the real roads. Settling down, family etc. the usual stuff.

He's a smart lad and makes a good pundit IMO. Also enjoy Plater's insights.

He did very well to hang on to that, It's a very fast bend, the scene of Guy Martin's fiery crash in 2010.

They don't call it Ballascarey for nothing.

I know they're allowed but it just doesn't sit right with me. I guess you're right though, it is a restart rather than a continuation after all. I was really rooting for Hicky and don't like Dunlop much so I was just disappointed when MD beat Hickman!

That was outrageous that he stayed on that! But notice, he landed on it, legs all off, a split second of "WTF" then back on it!! Hero!
