Just evening sessions now.

Majority of the course usually closes around 6 for a 6.20-6.30 start

The mountain section usually an hour earlier than the rest of the course to facilitate the removal of traffic cones
Yes, a shame I loved the early morning practice.

Last year it started Sat evening, (5 ish), nowt on Sunday, then Monday, Tues, Weds etc evenings. 5.30pm (I think) the main roads closed til about 9?
But you are right, there was a proper practice schedule up last year and this year it seems vague.
Just had a look at last year's schedule and it was 6pm for every practice session

Mountain section 4.45pm,don't think it will have altered much as they tend to keep the roads open as late as possible
to allow the commuters to get home

Just found this

Sorry I was talking about roads closed times.

Can't argue with that ,there was a fatality near to ballacraine shortly before roads closed for Fri practice

Not to mention cleaning up of oil/diesel spillage after minor RTAs too, frustrating when spectating, obviously more so for organisers & racers.

Radio TT (1368 am) is your friend when on the island. It's brilliant, and tells you everything you need to know about road closures, and, with incidents occurring on an almost daily basis nothing is set in stone and schedules change all the time

My advice, take a portable radio !

31st to the 11th. First time for me so I have no idea where to watch/what to do etc. Tips all appreciated. Only thing I'm trying to decide is whether I ship my stuff over with "ship my bag", what I will need in it (all important camping chair?) and what bike Hornet or R6!

Sadly all my mates who were meant to come with me have bailed but I still can't wait smile
Take the electric railway up the mountain to the Bungalow. Its a great place to watch, lay out on the grass, use the low priced burger van, toilets etc. These are my snaps of the Bungalow from last year..

I was also lucky enough to get free VIP access to the top of the tower on the main race day, which was amazing. All these snaps were taken from up there.....

Lovely day all day on the island but sadly the mist has come in at 430 and 1st practice is cancelled.

Coming over Wednesday morning for the first time. Can't. Wait. Any recommendations where to watch from first? I'm going to be based at the Silly Moos campsite not far from Ramsey.

Cracking spot straight opposite the entrance to your campsite.

You will see a lane nearly opposite with a church down it.
Go in the field to the left of the lane as you look down it
The field is owned by the campsite owners so they will point it out
This the spot, campsite entry is roughly where you can see the marshalls in orange

I'm surprised to read that, last year it was after the races and I ended up downloading an auto redial app to save me keep trying

Still took about 4 hours of it trying every 30 seconds

I'm in Portugal at the moment but will be in iom early hours Friday morning

Got the laptop and tablet on the go, I managed to pick a crossing on the tablet, but now it's hanging on the login page... no joy on the laptop or phone either...

ETA: Now on hold on the phone, their system there is a bit of a joke too, the "expected wait time" just goes up and down! It's been down to 15 minutes, they up to 20...

The session on the tablet timed out because it couldn't proceed to the next page fast enough.

ETAA: Finally done, 2h20m of trying, and all I could get was going out Wednesday of practice week and coming back Tuesday after race week... Still, I can't wait.
