From what I have read they say they are still competing in the TT and Guy is still riding?
They would be silly not to say that until the point they decide they can't run the bike but with under two weeks to go and not having been able to get anything off the ecu / data logger, never mind work out how to fix it, its not looking good.

You know that's not McGuinness on the bike in these photos right?

John is conflicted. He wants to equal Joey's record but he never has liked the gym and it's getting tougher with age. If he heals well there's still time. Guy seems to be past his best. He said himself that he needed to dedicate an entire year building towards a competitive TT and he only signed with Honda in January . At least if the bike keeps throwing him up the road he won't get bored. Get well soon John.
John has said openly on many occasions that he didn't want to equal or beat Joey's record, Out of pure respect for his idol.

Is Guy going to get enough stamps in time to even ride at the TT given he was pulled out the NW200? All seems to be going tits up for Honda. I can see Michael Dunlop getting the hump with Suzuki and going back to BMW again.

I already have a bet that he'll be on a Bennets BMW at the TT

It's a shame to see John put out of competition this year and I hope he makes a swift and full recovery. Whether or not he returns to racing, he would be doing so for his love of the sport. He has nothing to prove, but I love the fact that such a humble and unassuming bloke throws out world beating performances.

It truly could be an annus horribilis for Honda this year. With the situation of just what caused the crash remaining unresolved, and indications suggesting it may have been the bike and it's electronic throttle, riders will be wary on it going into future races. Perhaps the safest thing would be to pull the new bike out until it's sorted. As said above, that or racing an older Fireblade would be a major PR blow to Honda.

The bike to beat this year could well be the GSXR1000. The GSXR has always been a strong and competitive bike but there seems to be a real buzz of positivity about this new one. It'll be an interesting TT as always.

What a crass comment.

So when are YOU racing for Honda? Racing at all?
Exactly! Guy still holds the lap record at Oliver's Mount, he has lapped the Mountain Course at over 130mph average, he has won numerous Irish road races..........not a bad achievement and certainly not someone who falls off a bike when it is on paddock stands!

Guy or MD?
It won't be MD, he and BMW really don't see eye to eye anymore.

Without wanting to go too much into the finer details, does anyone know what happened to McGuinness when he came off? Ie, highside, etc?

I read that he went over the railings, very lucky boy that his injuries are not more serious by all accounts

They didn't see eye to eye last year & they were still happy for the wins so I still think it could be a reality especially as they didn't sell the Superbike, even without the crash I doubt McPint would have made the (I won't count the Zero until they can do at least Two Laps) Podium anyway.
