Oh dear, that horrible, really hope he's better soon.
Only positive for Honda this time was at least it wasn't the superbike doing a McGuinness on him!

Get well soon Mr H.

Ironic it's on a pushbike. I feel far safer on my motorbike with the helmet/leather protection on than I do on my pushbike with no protection frown

Gutted to hear this.

Nicky became world champ and it never got to his head, he's still a thoroughly nice bloke after all that, not something others can say.

The current US President needs to take a page from Nicky's hymn sheet.

All the best champ.

Terrible news. I was fortunate enough to meet him at Donington in 2007 and he came across as a genuinely nice guy.

best wishes for him getting better.

Sadly the third high profile accident on push bike. Didn't a professional cyclist die earlier in the year in Italy?

I like the guy (not that it matters).
I like him in the commercial of Hypermotard

I wish him well and quick recovery but it feels like his glory days are behind him.

Not sounding too promising. Transferred to trauma unit and in a medically induced coma.
Snapped the whole back end off his bike. Looks like a rear end or T bone accident.

Poor Nicky

That's very sad - and besides the professional rider dying, Chris Froome was knocked off his bike too. Are continental drivers suddenly unable to see as well?

Fingers crossed for one of the (many) good guys in bike racing. The statements I've read suggest the next 48 hours is the most important part, as he seems in a bad way.

What the hell is wrong with you? A MotoGP champion and a very decent, well-liked guy is seriously ill after a terrible accident and you pipe up to cast a slight on his career?

And you wonder why the majority of people on here dislike you.

I've been ridiculed and disliked right from the start, as I do not follow the flock when it comes to comments, I do not say the "right" things and actually am a little more passioned about my stuff than the rest. You need to be politically "polite" even on a forum, seems like. Whatever...

As far as Nicky is concerned, what happened is a tragedy, because I want him to win WSB, I looked forward to that when he switched from MotoGP. Unfortunately Honda is again not competitive, maybe even dangerous (what with McGuinness' comment about throttle).
Obviously I want Nicky to heal asap! I want him to win, that's why my comment is more out of desperation, even though it came across insensitive.

Cycling is dangerous, I've said it before (just today in a different thread) and I say it again.
There are punks who think public roads (in particular narrow winding ones) are for racing. I've seen this myself, I got scared by these drivers myself 4 times this year already. They come round blind corners full throttle in their (sometimes 2 meter wide) cars and do not even know if there is a cyclist on the road, or two going side by side as it often happens! Terrible, really terrible.

That's it, Pal, you tell us how it is on Biker Banter.

More passioned about what, bikes or being a spazmatron?
