I've been ridiculed and disliked right from the start, as I do not follow the flock when it comes to comments, I do not say the "right" things and actually am a little more passioned about my stuff than the rest. You need to be politically "polite" even on a forum, seems like. Whatever...

As far as Nicky is concerned, what happened is a tragedy, because I want him to win WSB, I looked forward to that when he switched from MotoGP. Unfortunately Honda is again not competitive, maybe even dangerous (what with McGuinness' comment about throttle).
Obviously I want Nicky to heal asap! I want him to win, that's why my comment is more out of desperation, even though it came across insensitive.

Cycling is dangerous, I've said it before (just today in a different thread) and I say it again.
There are punks who think public roads (in particular narrow winding ones) are for racing. I've seen this myself, I got scared by these drivers myself 4 times this year already. They come round blind corners full throttle in their (sometimes 2 meter wide) cars and do not even know if there is a cyclist on the road, or two going side by side as it often happens! Terrible, really terrible.
It is not a question of passion. It's about respect and learning what is appropriate whether that is here or anywhere. And in general you wouldn't undermine them in such situations.

How I interpreted your comment as you used the word 'but' was that you cast an aspersion that you didn't think it was so bad because his career was on the wind down. Which was stupid even if you didn't intend it.

Think.

Get well soon Nicky. Was chuffed when he won last year and then got the ride in GP again. Great person .

I agree, my "comment" was disrespectful dumbass blurt, my mistake.

He was cycling in Italy, jeesus, I've seen how they drive and ride scooters in Italy on those small winding roads, it's very scary...

My best wishes to NH.

There appears to be an inconsistency with the sub headline and article.

"Former MotoGP champ collides with car in Italy"

"Hayden, who took the 2006 GP title, was riding with friends in Rimini, Italy, when a car collided with him"

The sub headline appears to apportion blame to NH...

In all his interviews, Nicky came across as a super chilled out and nice guy. Sincerely hope he pulls through, and is able to make a recovery.

I feel bad for Nicky Hayden. He comes across like a true champion and very humble down to earth and dedicated sportsman who is credit to the motorcycle racing world.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Cycling is dangerous as evidenced by Chris Froome being taken out by a car nr Monaco recently & RIP to rally driver Donal O'Brien killed whilst cycling last week - he was rapid in his Mk2 Escort https://youtu.be/yIlzKLQt67Y?t=1m8s

Sadly this is nothing new - one of my favourite drivers, Bob Wollek, was killed in 2001 cycling back after 12h Sebring Practice.

Yes, this is absolutely terrible, almost unbelievable really.

It's a shocking reality check for all of us in terms of the way that our routine daily lives can change suddenly.

Let us all hope for the best outcome.

A real shame. Just read on an Italian friends facebook page something about a Rimini paper saying he's being kept alive while his mum and brother travel from the US. Hopefully it's just click bait nonsense. Either way, all the articles are saying he's in a coma and extremely critical frown

I read it's an induced coma, which is a medical way of stabilizing a patient. So that's not necessarily a bad thing. He's a fighter, I wish him well in this current battle... he's got what it takes to come though this.
