"Italian newspapers reported on Monday that investigators had found video of the accident from a camera on a house overlooking the road. They said the images suggested Hayden had failed to stop at an intersection and was hit full on by the passing car."

Has this been confirmed?

sorry to bring this horrid subject up but dose anyone else find it very strange that we have not heard what or who was the blame for this accident and Haydens death?

I've not seen anything on the news or in the papers about the outcome.

Ahh right I thought this may be the case due to the lack of info in the media

It will only be covered in specialist sporting/bike press, not msm I would assume so you'll have to keep a close eye on those.

And depending on the findings, they may not shout too loudly about it.

"Defence lawyers argued that Hayden had failed to halt at a stop sign, and was cycling with ear buds in and listening to music.

An official accident report attributed 30% of blame to the car driver."

Seems like a perfectly reasonable verdict.

Sorry but if the defence lawyers statement is true it seems a bit harsh on the driver IMO

I get that this won't perhaps be a popular opinion, but why are his family now trying to sue the driver for €6m in Damages
I get that they've had a tragic loss, and the sport as a whole will miss Nicky, but why now sue the driver ?
It's like the guy from Fast and Furious who died in a Porsche being driven too fast, and is now his family are trying to sue Porsche for building a car too quick for the roads.
It's a horrid thing to have happened, but the guy's run a stop sign wearing earphones, and been hit by a car that was going 12mph over the limit, so suddenly the driver is being sued and prosecuted ?

Yes and if NH had stopped at the stop sign and looked he would of seen the car, unfortunately neither will bring him back which is the sad thing.

from this news quote https://www.autosport.com/motogp/news/139301/drive...

it says '' An expert witness for the prosecution alleged the driver could have stopped and "entirely avoided the accident" if he was travelling 20km/h slower.''

so maybe that is why

Yes I did read the article and as I have already posted above if true that NH should of stopped at a STOP sign the incident would not have probably happened. Will have to wait for the judges review as I believe we do not have all the correct facts yet.

Yup, and had the driver been doing 120 he'd never have even seen him.

They can only go by what did happen, not if, buts and maybes.

ETA - I'm not saying I agree with it, or trying to argue.
