That's what I'm most worried about as my riding style isn't that efficient. It tires me out quickly as I'm soooo unfit. But It depends how close to your ultimate qualifying pace you are expected to run for 40 mins.
If I drop 3 seconds a lap I could probably go all day, but at flat out pace, 20 minutes is all I've done then it's an unknown

Garage list is out for the 1000km endurance event at Donny with NL.
Graeme4130 is in garage 32 in his '113 events' team, sharing a garage with FWR team.
Gavia, Fleegle and Hebegebe are in garage 6 with team 'Lucking Fast'
I've joined a team called 'Legends' and are based in garage 17.
Is garage 6 near the toilets?Graeme4130 is in garage 32 in his '113 events' team, sharing a garage with FWR team.

The key is to find a comfortable pace and run at that. Running 3 seconds slower consistently is better than lap record pace for 20 minutes then going off a cliff with your times or worse crashingIf I drop 3 seconds a lap I could probably go all day, but at flat out pace, 20 minutes is all I've done then it's an unknown

3 seconds a lap off your best pace is approx 36 seconds per 20 mins, you'll lose a lot more than that by pitting every 20 minsIf I drop 3 seconds a lap I could probably go all day, but at flat out pace, 20 minutes is all I've done then it's an unknown
That's kinda our logic.
Our team are reasonably evenly paced, and we can all do low 1:40's at a push, so if we try and keep around the 1:45 mark, we should be good for 40min stints each
At least, that's how we'll start off and I suspect we'll be ending the race doing 2 laps and coming in
8ish hours is a long time between 3 riders, so as long as keep we keep our enegery levels up and properly hydrated, we should be Ok-ish for the long term, and it's going to be keeping that consistency towards the end of the race that'll pay dividends when the other teams are all battered and struggling to get on their bikes at all.
Luckily the toilets are down by the high numbers on the garages, so at least we're semi close in garage 32 as I expect I'll need at least 2 number two's and possibly 10 number 1's during the race

another worthwhile nightshift at work. Spent 1 hour in the gym, and watched fk knows how many onboard laps of Donny. If only I had started the gym 6 months earlier.
Any of you guys fancy a track walk on Friday night?????
Bring a pushbike, I'm riding it slowly rather than walking it. Any of you guys fancy a track walk on Friday night?????

So they've put the oldest s competing the furthest away from the toilets?? fking madness
There's going to be a few people disappointed by contanimated fuel in their jerry cans
Good news is that there's the additional block of loos across the paddock, a well kept secret and they're usually clean too. There's going to be a few people disappointed by contanimated fuel in their jerry cans

Booked my ACU test at Brands for Aug 22nd.
Once you have your licence, be careful what rash decisions you make. I'm not sure if the regs/club rules have been relaxed but trying to get a cheeky race in this season could affect your rookie status for next year. It will be worth speaking to the club you're looking at joining for clarificationBooked my ACU test at Brands for Aug 22nd.

Do not worry old boy .... ignorance is bliss......what the uninitiated here are forgetting is that there is a little hidden gem ,"select " almost facility in the little alleyway up between garages four and five if I remember correctly....There's going to be a few people disappointed by contanimated fuel in their jerry cans
Fear Not.

You have to have your license signed 10 times to upgrade to a clubman so one or two races isn't a big issue

I'm really looking forward to this. Kinda nervous that I haven't been to Donny in 5 or 6 years when I was in the novice group. I see we get 20 minutes qualifying, so will need to try hard to learn the track quickly. Need to find and watch some videos
Never mind that, what do you want jaffa cakes or Oreo's ?mckeann said:
