Anyone still racing?

Started this year, did my ACU at Snetterton and the following weekend I was at Donnington with NGRRC for my first races.

Was eye opening to say the least, entered Powerbikes and had a Newcomers race, my first time doing the national layout, missed the testday due to work commitments which left me with 10 minutes of FP and QUALIFYING to find me feet (I didn't lol).

The whole weekend was a bit of a rush job, using some V02 scrubs I had for it all.

I found the whole thing utterly brilliant, the whole atmosphere around the circuit and paddock was so vastly different from a trackday, far more family and fun oriented.
Race 1 I qualified 27th, finished dead last after a trip into the gravel at Redgate, manage to stay on it though, race 2 was a DNF, think i was in 17th but either through nerves or whatever, I forgot to check fuel before the race and promptly came to a stop 7 laps in frown

Lessons learned though, and, with V02 scrubs that had seen far more than they should have, I started the Newcomers race and managed to finish 4th, I'll take that.

Here's the Newcomers race if anyone's interested

From there I've done Pembrey (I'm from Wales so it's close to me) it's a circuit that I've never got on with, especially on the R1, just can't seem to find any sort of flow to it, so decided to not enter powerbikes and after speaking to a friend who races in the Suzuki Bandit Challenge Cup, a deal was done on his wet bike..
And so I found myself entering into a race on a bike I'd never ridden before.
Much fun was had, with Pembrey being far more forgiving physically on a bike with just 60 odd bhp compared to the 190 on the R1.
I came 14th in class on the Bandit, and 5th in the Newcomers race on the R1, a pretty successful weekend on a track I don't like.

And here's the video of my first Bandit race at Pembrey,
For those interested, I beat the guy at the end by 0.006 lol.

Next race is at Cadwell, where I'll be racing the Bandit again and the R1, before heading to Brand Hatch for my first ever visit and race with Bemsee in the Rookie 1000s.

Please, if anyone has any advice, tips, tricks, do share! I've already learned a few simple things, like ABS isn't your friend while racing, so that's gone now.. but open to learn more.

I doubt I'll do much this year, if any at all, as my 15year son is racing and that takes all my time and money now days, and is only getting more expensive as time goes on

I raced a bits and bobs last year, and had a win with No Limits at a very wet Donington and our team won the Club1000 class at the brands 8hr endurance and came 4th overall which was a nice way to see the season out

This year I'll mainly be doing the odd trackday, and a few winter euro's and Spanish testing with my lad once his season finishes

Hi bud, yeah I've been watching with interest on your Instagram with how your boy was doing, great it seems 😎

Also saw you had a mishap on the R1, how's all that looking now?

We are heading to Carta again in Dec and probably the same in early in the new year after the years racing is over, BTW, any pointers for cadwell or Brands GP please do share.

Cheers, yeah he's having a good season so far and training hard too, although his size is against him this year in Junior Supersport.
R1's all back together again now, although looking very plain in black after the painted fairings got smashed up at Snetterton
I rode it again Tuesday at Doni to test it out, and all seems ok. Was very windy that day, so no meaningful laps, but it worked well for the few laps I did before the day ended
