Have just removed the factory tank sticker and it has left a sticky residue. Any advice on how to remove this residue gratefully received. Thanks in advance.

Bit of petrol on a rag will shift it.

White spirit is relatively 'kind' to paint and doesn't evaporate too quickly. Polish & wax after of course.

Do you think I can use WD-40?

@mitzy - use a credit card, worked a treat :-)

You can get some 3M glue remover.
You could also use tar remover (I think glue remover and tar remover are largely the same thing).

Use a clean cloth and try to dab it on first to lightly soak the stuff you're trying to remove, and then very gently try to wipe it away bit by bit.

Think you've got all the advise - but WD 40 and a bit of elbow grease will do it.
