End of my first day and all I can say is bloody 'ell!!!!!!
Instructor Dave is great, patient and explains stuff really well. The bike is a Yamaha 600 four cylinder , no idea of the model. I am struggling to get to grips with the throttle response, it revs really quick compared to a car (or those horrid 125's!). By the end of the session it was coming together though.
I need to work on my low speed riding, I'm struggling with it at the moment because I end up looking at where I am instead of where I'm going.
Onwards and upwards!

I struggled a lot during my training although I’d never been on a bike before the course.Instructor Dave is great, patient and explains stuff really well. If you can relax (hard I know), just work with the bike and not be rigid I found it became quite natural and then remembering to stare at where ever you want to go it came together for me.
And then the rest is doing the miles out on the road. I don’t think there is a substitute for time/miles on the bike.
Good luck!

Throttle response on the bigger CC bikes tends to feel a lot more sensitive, this is where the clutch control comes in big time. Really try feathering that clutch during low speed manoeuvres.... keeping the revs up a bit and dragging the rear break also helps no end with stability. As you say, looking where you want to go rather than where you are is the key..
Best of luck.
Thanks for the encouragement and tips guys.
Today went better, spent an hour at the test centre and it all started to come together. I still find the "big" curve intimidating but my speed trap readings were on the button. Unfortunately there is no more practice time before the day.
Out on the road it's coming together but need to work on my line through Roundabouts.

Failed the bloody thing! 1kph too slow on the avoidance, that was it.
Really annoying as I had a 2 hour ride before it no had no problems.
Rebooked for 4th of October.
I don't understand how they failed you for that. I did exactly the same, 49kph' on the avoidance and passed with just a minor mark down.Really annoying as I had a 2 hour ride before it no had no problems.
