Street Triple: R or no R...
Discussion
I popped in to my local dealer (also Triumph franchise) to look at what they had. Only managed a seat on a '13 plate, seemed quite a queue for test rides so didn't entertain that idea!
The only early model they had was sold so didn't get near that. Certainly appears to be slim pickings this side of the border for them.
I'm on holiday the week after next so might head down the country to have a look at some.
I really like this one; http://www.cubomoto.co.uk/used-bikes/triumph-stree... sensible mileage/price and it's orange!

Since this thread I've been looking at a couple locally. You can't get one for £3k unless its super mileage. I've found one somewhere around £3.5k which has a patchy service history and needs the 12k service which is £500, even from a local garage. It does seem that people try to get rid of them around this point to avoid the big service bill.

...ah, you've got a , on the end of your link!
They've got a nice grey one in too.
Not sure what you have decided but I would echo getting the R if only for the brakes, I found the non-r ones quite woody. I had had 2. My 2008 had Daytona shocks and forks on it and the last one was a R.
I think the latter bikes have abs (as an option I think) but am not sure which year 2012 onwards? They also have en immobiliser. I know not a lot but better than nothing.
Good luck shopping.

Obviously still early days but I'm loving it, we've got a run up to Loch Ness on Saturday which will be a good test!
