thanks to OP

concluded like others this is a no brainer

just ordered a black one. they have now sold 85. Still more available but have to be reg and financed before month end

this will replace my BMW C650 sport for commuting duties. I reckon it will retain what I like about that (twist and go, easy to ride, poky enough, great tool for the job) whilst obviously being a proper bike. C650 was my first super scooter and I sold an RNine T to get it and didnt really regret that. One of the things I like is that I can ride it in normal trainers / boots without a gearlever digging in my foot. Not great safety I know - but great convenience eg riding to meetings. DCT therefore hits the spot.

meanwhile for anyone thinking the black is a bit dull - this looks much meaner, no? Will investigate aftermarket stickers once I collect

Looking good thumbup I'm counting down the days until I get mine.

Keep thinking about the gold wheels on my black one - would anyone with a Tricolour consider a pre-delivery swap of their gold wheels for my black ones? Here's pic of a Tricolour with black wheels to help you:

In other news, SW Motech bash guard and Heed upper crash bars now ordered for mine - I've not even got the thing yet!

I love it! It'd like piloting a small cloud. Though it does look like it could eat the Fireblade when it's sitting in the garage...
Love it.

Did you get used to the DCT quickly? What is the crack with running in?

I didn't go for the clutch level or shifter once! I was quite surprised smile

I would quote the manual but I've left it at the dealer because I couldn't carry it home. Maybe I should've got some luggage after all.

I got used to the dct really quickly, I did try to change up once though. It's quite alien not reaching for the clutch when pulling to a stop.

I found the gears really good too, in sports mode, and I noticed it changing down quicker if I was braking harder, so there would be more engine braking...

Advice I got for running in was stay out of sports 3 mode so it doesn't rev too high, don't labour it, and keep varying the engine speed, for the first 600 miles (first service). So basically ride normally!

Point to note if anyone bought one with luggage from John Banks, the luggage is on backorder! Good thing I took a bungee net in my holdall "just in case", because no-one had told me!

The process itself took about 20 minutes I guess, a couple of bits to sign then they show you the bike, but I was waiting around for a bit first. Pretty quick though.

It was funny seeing so many bikes in there though, they were taking over a lot of the car side!

Oh, and don't forget you're in D when stopped at the lights and give it a little rev to hear the engine note... That nearly caught me out!

I'd love one. But unfortunately where I live it will be stolen. The lack of law & order we now experience is directly affecting what I can and can't have, good eh.

Took mine to work this morning. So much more relaxing than the Fireblade 😊

Though I do keep going to put my foot down at traffic lights and thinking: "OH MY GOD! WHERE'S THE GROUND!?"

It is if you really want a DCT Africa Twin. If not it's a complete waste of £79/month

"want" tends to lead to bad decisions in my book

this is simply a cold hard rational decision based on the £ . And frankly given I probably spend that on flat whites a month, not one I'm worrying about too much

The way i look at it is that soon i stop paying for my iphone on the interest free scheme at £34 a month and won't bother upgrading to an Iphone X at £55 a month.

So there i have saved ££ and have myself a new bike, get small payrise in April.

Tax will cheaper than current bike, no MOT's, it's slower ( But still alot of fun), wife can ride it, we take kids out... the list goes on.

At the end of 3 years ( or sooner) i can just give it back which i will probably do and get a replacement on hopefully another great JB deal.

Roll on tomorrow.

I can't get my head around this deal... £70 a month for 3 years and then 6k at the end, so that's 4k less than just buying a new one outright? Do Honda normally do deals like this, because if this came along next summer when I'd be in a better financial position (moving soon) I would bite their hands off for one of these bikes! eek

It's not Honda per se, because no other dealers seem to want or can get close (someone earlier in the thread may have got lucky elsewhere). This particular dealer is paying the deposit of over £3,000 bringing the new cost down to around £9,000 rather than £12,000+.

I actually spent the same on Avocado and egg on a piece of toast that i normally get for breakfast 3 times a week when I am in the office.

I also watched this whole YouTube series last night while the Mrs watched TV https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKuAkiaIPmczS62_-... - I have to admire somebodies ability to spend that much time on their own. I struggle to spend a 7 hour work day on my own at home.
