EE's offer for the iPhone X costs more than the Africa Twin is costing me
And both equally pointless to most people, unless you could sell them both on.Imagine if you woke up next week and wanted to do that. Could you? No...I didn't think so.

Do Honda normally do deals like this
Yes they do. Strangely enough they did the same sort of deal when I bought my Africa Twin back in 2003. Honda had released the Varadero to replace the Africa Twin but it wasn't selling that well. So in their wisdom they instructed their dealers to clear the showrooms of all AT's within a month. So I bought mine at 3k less than it would have been before the clear out, happy days.I think there is a similarity here because although the DCT AT is a great bike based on what I've read on the AT forums most buyers are still choosing the geared version. So for anyone that wants a DCT AT fill ya boots because it is a great deal. But on the flip side if folks aren't buying them now unless they are heavily discounted I'm not sure how that will reflect on the prices in 3years time

I was joking. I have purchased this because I want one. I like the idea of having one.

I keep thinking I'm missing something and if I hang around I might figure out what it is.I can tell you are not a fan. Maybe this thread isn't for you.
I can see the sense if you are in the market for a bike anyway, and this fits the bill, so you buy it instead of a GS say (thank fk).

Apparently, 1st year was about a 90/10 split in favour of manual, which has slowly changed to the point where it's now about 60/40 in favour of manual. My local dealer reckons it's about 50/50 from what he's sold. I also wonder what the figures are going to be like now given the manual and DCT have been selling for the same price.Rawwr said:

Were your white handguards on as standard?
Yup, what you see is a totally standard bike.I have been in touch with SP engineering who have done a lot of work for me on exhausts. They might borrow my bike for a week to fabricate a carbon slip on. Will post pics when done if any of you are interested in purchasing one, can get us a group buy discount i guess.
I'm in. I've not ridden on the road since 2003 & gave up on the circuits around 2008 & I knew my days of sportsbike riding were over. I've been hankering after another bike for a while & nearly bought a mates GS last month & looked at something of that ilk. This AT deal was just the prod I needed to get another bike so here goes....
