Couldn't resist. Have also grabbed one. They're up to 107+ now. Wanted nothing but centre stand stuck on it. Apparently they're on back order like the luggage. May have to be a later addition if not in by the time i pick it up (logistical nightmare).

Been ages since I had a bike i used regularly. Hoping this one will save me time and petrol on the commute. Well that's what man-maths said.

biggrin

I think around half of those sales must have come from this thread alone! Good effort.

I don’t need one. I shouldn’t want one. But it’s cheaper than a new sodding iPhone per month!

that's what you get for messing with the Africa Twin crew; brutal grammar corrections.

I'll be honest, speaking to prolapse.

£3k off.
no deposit
hand it back or an attractive buy back price at the end
£70 a month

Why the fk am I thinking about one. I genuinely think if I had a house with a garage on it, which I could just open and ride it to work each morning I'd have one by now. The only thing that puts me off is I can't be arsed to drive two miles to my Dads garage, push many bikes out the way to get the sportsbike of my choice for the ride to work, i'd never use the Africa.

But £70 a month, ffs thats fk all. They're giving them away.

That's quite a deal if you're not going to exceed 4000 miles a year

If you exceed 4000 it is only 5.7p per mile.

give it back with 15k on the clock and it will cost you £170

I understand that its 7p a mile if you exceed 4000 a year.

In theory, the amount i'd save on fuel with this to the car means it would pay for itself if I used it going to work and back.

As I said the only thing holding my back is its 40 mins + to actually got get the bike out and put it back each day to go to work.

It's also 12,000 over 3 years, not 4,000 a year, so you can spread it around a bit.

That's ex-VAT I think, though it doesn't make a huge difference!

Yes I know, but it's still a limiting factor. Like I say, it's a good deal but if your commute is more than 8 miles each way then you will be exceeding their limit. Would this impact on their buy back value?

Yeah definitely not ideal for the commuters, but a bit of flexibility is useful if you're just planning one or two Euro trips.

My understanding is that the 7p a mile is the impact, I don't believe there is anything else. The guaranteed minimum value, I thought, is just that.

I could be wrong, I'm going to be honest I don't really care. I'm just going to ride it however I like. They can bill me whatever the fk they want. It's going in a field this week without appropriate tyres and crash bars.

What did you think the excess mileage charge covered? o_O

I think i will be around the 12k after 3 years so not sweating over it, but i agree it is a limiting factor.

I'm not sure about buy back value, i presume you get guaranteed final value with 'normal' wear and tear of £6300 if you are over mileage you pay the extra.

If you have extras on the bike, remove them or maybe they will value the bike and give you more for it? But i would assume with 108 turning up in 3 years the used market for AT's will be at all time low.
