Yes I know, but it's still a limiting factor. Like I say, it's a good deal but if your commute is more than 8 miles each way then you will be exceeding their limit. Would this impact on their buy back value?
I'm thinking of ordering two, be almost cheaper than the excess mileage Rawwr said:

What did you think the excess mileage charge covered? o_OI asked about the final buy back price ... It's £63oo ish ... if the bike is worth £7k at the end you buy it for £6300, if the bike is worth £5k you buy it for £6300 .. So if it's worth more you could buy and sell it on... If it's worth less then you can give it back and walk away .. There is consideration about if it's been serviced, overall condition etc ..
One Matt Black winging it's way to me ...

Yeah definitely not ideal for the commuters, but a bit of flexibility is useful if you're just planning one or two Euro trips.
My understanding is that the 7p a mile is the impact, I don't believe there is anything else. The guaranteed minimum value, I thought, is just that.
I could be wrong, I'm going to be honest I don't really care. I'm just going to ride it however I like. They can bill me whatever the fk they want. It's going in a field this week with or without appropriate tyres and crash bars.

I picked mine up yesterday. There were 5 other guys collecting their bikes when I got there. The taxi driver who gave me a ride from the station said "I've given 8 blokes a lift saying the same thing" (the helmet and bike kit did rather give it away). Truly an unusual deal. Time will tell how we all feel about it in a few years.
Two and a half hours later I was home. The bike cruised happily on the motorway and the style of bike, which is new to me, is very comfortable on a long journey. Normally I get off after an hour on my other bike with sore wrists and feeling a bit battered but yesterday was much more relaxed. As well as use on my commute, I'm now investigating green lanes for beginners.
Happy days and thanks to the OP without whom I'd not have known about this.

Sat at CMC Clay cross today having a coffee and looking at the bikes when in rolls a brand new African twin.Strolled over for a chat with the bloke to see what he thought about his new purchase and sure enough he had bought it through the offer in this thread.
He absolutely loves it and gave me the full tour,it was the first time I've actually seen one in the flesh.Great looking bike(in my eyes) but the one thing I did notice was just how tall it was.At six foot I'd never even given it second thought but he had the seat on the lowest setting and it still looked big.
Even more gutted I missed the offer.

Are all the mounting points accessible to fit the Heed bars. The mount at the front near to the down pipes looks troublesome or was it easy?
yes, access issues were a problem, didn't have to pull the headers off though! Were a couple of tricky nuts to get to but nothing to bad, it all fits together very well, but prepare for bloody knuckles and a little bit of swearing but no major re-modifications.
