Was it a hot day? Possibly tyre pressure too high.

I would like the bigger tank, but the rest of it is fine for me. I am really enjoying the bike to be honest. 18,000 mile service in the next week or so. Matt black and having no issues with paint work, apart from the scratches i have put on it.

Few corroded nuts and bolts and the spokes are not looking great, but going to get them to replace all of that under warranty.

Think i might resent paying the £6k bubble at the end for a bike with astronomical mileage on, but that is the nature of the game i guess.

Mine's pretty sh*tted-up. Nuts, bolts, chain, spokes, rims are all rotting like an old turd. I've done 1,100 miles. Both the AT and Fireblade were used at the same times over winter, both coated with ACF50, both cleaned and maintained at the same time. Fireblade is immaculate but the AT is just f*cking sh*t. Really disappointed.

Think when i take it in for its 18k service it is fair to request them to replace all corroded st with new parts?

I have toured on the bike over alpine passes for about 5k miles, used it to commute to work for the remaining 13k and it has been ACF'd multiple times. I really like the bike but I wan the corrosion sorted!

I'm certainly going to ask when it goes in for its new rims and spokes. If I get a TADTS response, I think I'm just going to clean it up as best I can and sell it. If its done this in 1,100 miles, what's it going to be like at 20k?

The rusty spokes have been a known issue since the bike was launched.

I quite fancy a new bike but am doing about 10k miles a year at the moment (not as many as SC I know) so the garage servicing costs add up. I'm currently using a 2007 Sprint and just chuck £40 of oil and filter at it every 3-4k miles. For cost wise I think I'm better off getting an older but lower mileage bike and just racking the miles up on that whilst doing the spanner work myself, rinse and repeat.

That's the biggie isn't it?
I will let you know. Having it done at a main dealer as well so could be pricey. But I would like everything replaced under warranty while it is there.

Haha, I only knew it because we were discussing 16k services on one of the AT Facebook pages! Geeky me had spotted the long life of them. The near side one is easy enough to pop out for a quick check - won't guarantee for the rest but at least give you an idea how it's holding up.

Jesus, some people saying it costs just shy of £700 for the 2year/16K service.

That sound about right?

If you go for the valve check, yes. I won't be doing that. Runs perfectly, fuel consumption fine. I'll take my chances!

Are you sure you will be able to hand the bike back without having it properly serviced?

I keep them serviced to the book for the first year or so just in case i need to make a warranty claim. After 40k i figure if something was going to go wrong, it would of smile
