Why the fk are the servicing costs so high for this bike?
It looks at an absolute piece of piss to work on, is it just the ridiculous amount of time it takes to remove the plastics?
Apparently the valve check service @ 16k is a 6-8 hour job (stripping it down etc) but once out of warranty I'll be doing the servicing myself. It looks at an absolute piece of piss to work on, is it just the ridiculous amount of time it takes to remove the plastics?

Due my second service this month - can you remember what you paid for yours?
Think i'm going to give in and get a centre stand too.
No idea, mine is not comparable as I have mine serviced as per spec with OEM parts from Honda dealership, but it is done in a mates BMW motorrad garage for cut price Think i'm going to give in and get a centre stand too.
I have a constands one that has been fitted from near on new. It has been perfect.

As a comparison my 2014 Triumph Explorer gets a valve clearance service at 20k miles, it was every 10k on early bikes but they extended the intervals. My local dealer in Aberdeen was quoting £8-900 for the work as it's about 6+ hours by the time you're checked everything on the bike and changed all the fluids.
I got a mobile Triumph mechanic to do mine at home for £400 including the three shims it needed. It did take him 5 hours without breaks as there's a lot of bike to remove for access.
Just received my second year statement from Honda.Whilst reading through the paperwork that came with it I noticed an option to bail out early on the agreement which I wasn't aware of,I've never had a vehicle on this kinda deal before and thought you were locked in for the three years.
Has anyone taken up the option or is it to stupidly expensive to contemplate?

I would think its similar to a car lease, when I got out of my Golf R lease it was 55% of remaining payments owed.Has anyone taken up the option or is it to stupidly expensive to contemplate?

Voluntary termination. It's built into every PCP and HP deal. It's there to protect you if your finances suddenly change. It's not well advertised, but it is there, and has to be shown clearly.. it's just that most companies jump over it quickly as it ends up costing finance companies money.Has anyone taken up the option or is it to stupidly expensive to contemplate?

I’ve been thinking of bailing . I assumed you just paid the remaining 12 x £70 plus the settlement amount. I am worried that in 12 months there will be millions of ATs to shift so thought I would sell early
Not sure we ever had a definite answer on this, but I think as a collective, when this came up previously we concluded it was as per the post just earlier by Chicken dinner on the last page. I.e. the settlement amount is half of the total debt, not 50% of the monthly payments. I could be wrong of course.Whilst there will be a bit of a bolus the market, there's very few A/T for sale for near what your final value be at the end of this PCP (you can look at 2016/2017 DCTs and see it's very competitive at the moment). Also next year is a long way away, with unknown import/export costs and tariffs, and our currency increasingly being worth less than it's equivalent weight in bits of string, I'd not be so sure. There's the also the similarly unknown element of not knowing how many will simply will keep rather than sell on, thus supply may not actually outstrip demand as you suggest.
For ~£6,300, it may not be exciting, but it's still an awful lot of equipment, even at three years old and 12K. I still will probably be chucking it back though.
