I was out last Saturday and Sunday, i was out yesterday and I'm out today.

Its cold and the roads are not all that good so it may be my last one today.

One of the lads just missed the back of me last week before putting it through a hedge and fence and breaking both wrists and a few other bits plus his bike is well fked, bent forks, yokes and no bodywork from the front until the tail piece.
Too cold today John, takes ages to warm up again.

Fine day here today, bright and fresh. Perfect day for riding but i was too busy. Gritters came out late afternoon so much be a cold night forecast. I dont go out when salty so thats probably it now. Bikes ready to go should the opportunity pop up and salt washed off.

I was out today and although it was a cracking day it was bloody cold, last day of the year for summer gloves.

I keep both of my bikes taxed all year, there’s always a nice dry and mild Sunday in the depths of winter when I manage to get out but I don’t ride below 5c any more, I haven’t got any heated gear or grips so it’s just not pleasant.

I refuse to bring my bike out unless it is at least 60/65degrees F and absolutely zero chance of rain.

Did all that freezing/wet/icy stuff when I was a teenager, what's fun about biking in driving rain?

Lovely looking day yesterday, North from Bridge of Allan, spitting with rain by Dunblane, so quick about turn for the clear skies in the south/east.
Down the Mway, over the new bridge, and up through Fife to St Andrews for coffee.
Back home by Dundee. Absolutely freezing when I got in.
Bought a heated vest this morning, and had a go at it again today. Brilliant thing!
Shame to miss these lovely clear sunny days.

Gritters have been out, so I'm parked up.

Was intending to ride through the winter, but not sure i can justify ruining the VFR even more, and it's the bike i'm least precious about. Plus the clutch is slipping slightly and it could do with a service and new tyres (winter on slightly squared off rubber isn't fun).

Plus i always trash my visor through winter. Guessing it's wiping mist/rain off it while there's salt in the air? But not keen on ruining my 6 month old schuberth already.

Pretty lame excuses.

But gritters were out last night, and scraping the ice off the car this morning sealed it i think.

Bike went down twice on frozen decking when I came back late last night from a ride.

A great time before and miraculously no damage but.. Yeah... fk this... This is not my cup of tea.

Everything in the shed, batteries out!

Good Jehovah this. The failure of the British to understand how their weather works, then use it as a basis for small talk, baffles me.

Yes the weather varies, is often cold, and it rains a lot. That's because it's basically just the wind preventing us being a floating block of ice. It has been this way for millions of years, why the fk are we still surprised by it?

I wouldn't mind but it's usually fking old people, have they not been paying attention these last 70 years or so? "Ooo wee bit chilly today, strange as it was warm yesterday",
"It's fking Autumn in the UK you doddering old bd, what were you expecting? A tropical storm perhaps? Hurricane fking "Deirdre Raschid"? 20 feet of snow?"

I recently bought a new MT125 as i found my Zephyr 1100 a handful as i get older,i`m far more confident pottering around on the little Yamaha and now find myself looking for a small engine enduro/scrambler type to enjoy some green laning..But while i have put it away in the garage i hope to have a couple of ride outs on some chilly but dry days..

All you've done is bleep on about riding through the winter since buying that fking tractor denouncing anyone who doesn't as s. Appearing like a smug bugger with your new AWB that now apparently doesn't do winters xxx

That's "irony" isn't it? "Karma" seems a bit harsh...

Lol, I never called anyone a , and the worst I said was late Sep/Early Oct was quite early to put away a bike.... But admittedly here we are in November and I have been on my arse twice in 24 hours.

Nah seriously I can admit when I'm wrong. fk all weather biking. I realise I'm more of a heated seats and all weather car tyres sort of guy.

Yesterday was it for me, I was out at 11 am and back at 4.30, I was that cold that I couldn't find my knob everytime I needed a pish.

Salt down on the roads yesterday and minus 2 at 7.25 this morning

One last trip will be had on the bike before firmly putting it away - service needed 'status' has come on the dash.

BMW Motorrad Manchester won't do collection and delivery - even when i offered to pay.

Great... I have my mod 2 booked in early November... wondering whether to buy winter gloves for it, and you seasoned road warriors have parked up for the season...
You’ll learn.
Nailed it cool

Was cool yesterday but absolutely freezing during the lesson on Monday. Now to find a bike to park up for the winter.
