Was it that Fantic that the pedals didn't actually lock but just hung down together and swung back and forth, or was that the Garelli?
I don't know about the Fantic or Garelli, but the pedals on my old KTM Comet (aka Vomit) Cross just hung down and swung about! But I just didn't want to follow the herd and get an SS50 or FS1E. rolleyes

Doesnt look like it needs much in the way of a check over, these look better and better as the years go by...is it as fun to ride as it looks?

Its been in hibernation for the last year and will be again for anotyer year whilst im off to Australia. Ive never actually had it on the road (long story) but have only taken it up and down the cul-de-sac. Brakes and engine seem good, seat is a very weird angle and the forks are super soft which is a common complaint.

Once I get back and recommission it, it definitely has a lot of potential! I picked up this one as it only has 1000 miles from new and is totally standard

Great news to see you are finally doing it! Best of luck with it

While we are doing 125 pictures... I found a giant lego brick in Austria last year

Nice to see you back and good luck with the Mod 1. Let us know how you get on. I know you've had a few “antics” in your driving/riding history, but it is genuinely good to know you’re pressing ahead with your bike licence.

Done a bit of work on my scruffy commuter... installed a top box, painted the horrible scratched silver screen with some peelable black paint I had in the garage, replace the levers with some with working adjusters and delinked the brakes.
Delinking was one of the best mods I did to my old blackbird. so def +1 on that one.
I still have an original screen kicking around and I've actually got quite a few spares left over from my blackbird owning days. Message me if you might be interested.

I think he’s still trying to finish the race from a few weeks ago. He was a bit slow wink

I managed to tactfully avoid him all day.

I did a ground-up restoration of my GPz1100 maybe 20 years ago. Frame and wheels powder coat d, nice paint job, lots of polishing, all new bearings in the chassis (there’s a lot of them on the chassis), new disks and pads, engine refresh etc. Ran it for a few years but there was a wee leak from the head gasket that I never got round to fixing and I SORNd it in 2004.

For the first couple of years I fired it up every few months and ran it to the end of the street and back to keep things moving, but in truth I got bored/too busy to do that so it’s not been started for at least 5 years.

Now with all this sunny weather folks are sitting in their gardens, but I can’t just ‘do nothing’. What to do then with some spare time in the garden? Why, wheel the old Kawasaki out, pressure wash it down, connect a battery pack and press the starter. And despite 14 year old fuel and 34 year old fuel injection technology it fired straight up

Ooh. I’m all motivated now to strip it down again and fix the leak and get it back on the road smile

Bloody mobile roadblock, it was trying to get its end away with the cows and I was stuck for 15 minutes until a van came past and pushed it out of the way and I followed it through, turning round wasn't an option as it was a 30 mile detour home hehe

Also don't be tempted to buy Bridgestone S20 tyres unless you like changing them every 1200 miles, they came new on the bike and are below the wear indicators already on the rear, which is st for a lightweight bike.
