Used to be! beer

Until 1997 I lived near Ryton (Tyneside) - rode up to Rothbury a few times - I thought the parking place looked familiar!
Good spot. I've been going to Rothbury since the early 1970's first on the back of my Fathers bike then on my own from the early 80's.

I've not had a text from you saying the gritters had been out so I thought I was safe Dave.

You would not refrain from shagging your girlfriend to keep her tight for the next bloke.

Life's too short. Not had a bike yet where I thought at trade in, "wished I had done a lot less miles in better weather"

That looks interesting, I'd love to see manufacturers start producing 600s again.

The technology is there to make them lighter than ever, genuine 130-140hp

I think they'd be quite popular too

Spending the evenings in the garage getting my track/race bike ready for next season.
Need some engine casing protectors but I can’t find any that look worth the money so decided I’d make some, started off with the generator cover which I removed, taped and waxed and took a rough splash moulding from:

Then trimmed this up and started the process of filling and fairing. The aim with this is to get something resembling the finished product which I will then make a mould off. Doing it this way means I can make a new set whenever I need:

Then filler primer followed by some paint (ignore the imperfections in the paint these will be sorted before I make my mould)

So the next step is to get the finish nice on this, wax it up and then take a mould off of it. The mould can then be used to make the final product.
Whilst I was waiting for things to dry I’ve done some other bits, new full length front brake lines, bigger 300mm discs, caliper spacers and fancy titanium bolts on the front brakes. New master cylinder is on order:

New rearsets fitted, HRC rear reservoir to be fitted to tidy up the rear brake a bit:

Taken the lighting circuits out of the loom and added the rain light and test fitted the tail unit:

Still a lot lot more to fit, full service to do, lockwiring, lots of cleaning and get the fairings painted and make the other casing covers. Luckily winter is loooong

Is there a class that the 636cc model can race in competitively?

No limits allow pre 2007 636’s to race in the 600 class. I’m going to be running in newcomers 600s and I’m sure I’ll have one of the oldest bikes on the grid.

I did think about changing but I gel with this bike so decided to stick with it.

I think NG roadracing allow them to race as well
