Have you done anything to the forks? and what's the difference to the stock shock (looking at alternative to Ohlins internals and shock)
I've done the cheap pre-load mod to the forks - that's the longer screw kit you can get for under £10. It transforms the front, but worth putting in heavier oil as the preloaded spring overwhelms the damping otherwise.

The Kitaco shock has pre-load adjustment but although standard length, comes with a stiffer spring to start with. Between the two, you gain loads of braking ability as forks don't bottom and lots of ground clearnance as the rider sag is much much less.

I'm 15 and a half stone, but the Grom is criminally undersprung. These two mods if fitted yourself cost under £120 and transform the bike. Obviously a cartridge kit and springs for the forks is a better way to go, but on a 125 fourstroke like the Grom, it's a lot of money over the quick and dirty method and it's not like you are trackdaying it!

New bike day smile

Not quite dry roads, but nice to get back out on a bike after my crash in September.

Happy New Bike day, an excellent choice, not that I’m biased or anything whistle

Great start to the new year, as if the 1st week back at stinking work isn't bad enough I had the pleasure of opening this bks on Tuesday . On a plus note it was super fast delivery, crime committed Saturday and my notice Tuesday . Put a right dampener on my 2019 biking . rolleyes

And in my old van for fk sake .
Ooof.. not what you want to hear, and what you probably know, but, that's a magistrates job, 4-6 points or a small ban.

Unless things have changed in the last 3 years it should be £100 and 3 points. 26mph over any speed limit was the cut off point for the offer of a fixed penalty notice

I reckon 6 points and a £300 fine.

Best just have a few rollies and a couple of cans and forget about it.

Pete....

Considering the Grom's intended market is 40 kilo Asean types.... perhaps 220kgs of English lummox is tantamount to criminally overloading the poor thing biggrin

Don't forget to add the VAT to that stated weight.

They market it to full size Gaijins - it should be sprung better. Their scooters are! (and it's 98kg thank you).

The Kitaco shock is actually a Japanese market shock and is much firmer even with preload bang in the middle. Perhaps catering to Grom riding Sumo wrestlers...

150% of your weekly wage that fine will be, 6 points or a ban.
Sorry dude, hope it's a better outcome.

With Brexit uncertainty the kilo is trading closer to 1:1 vs the pound 😉

So despite them selling them to Gaijins they’re not designed for Gaijins and I would recommend the HRC ropeadope kit.

Basically a long cord that allows you pull the bike out of your arse crack when parking up.

You. On a Grom.... you have no mechanical sympathy man. Shame on you

In Bulgaria, thankfully not all of the trip involves riding in snow.

Got the bike in for its 600 mile service. I could've got it done local for similar money but the dealers offers a decent warranty if you stay with them and I've seen it work with my Aprilia

Might just be in my head but 20-30 miles in my gearbox after the service felt slicker

It was though bloody freezing. Thermals, jogging bottoms, tee, hoody and quilted rst winter textiles worked very well but the gloves couldn't hold it out for more than an hour and riding with numb end fingers wasn't nice

Can't believe how good on fuel it is if ridden gently (roads were like ice) and found it funny seeing an orange ice flashing light on the dash to remind me that I'm an idiot riding in this weather
