I decided that the Bonneville needed a facelift. Partly because our careless gardener (or someone with access to my garage, the evidence isn't conclusive) ripped the old seat wide open when moving stuff around, and partly because I saw one done up like this and instantly thought it looked much better than stock.

So, away went the old damaged black seat, the big bright orange indicators, the bulky back end number plate holder, and the huge front mud guard. Instead, I put on these much nicer replacements.

I think it looks great.

I’ll definately have another RS250 at some point. They’ve well plateaued money-wise so I assume everyone who wanted one, has one!

Best fun modern bike I’ve owned yes

As Felters says...in some ways v v v lucky. 5 others (all local French) were done too whilst we there. Not complaining but still not happy.

It was just outside the track. Monsieur Le Gendarme numero deux had been in a tree by the side of the road.

As we approached the roundabout Monsieur Le Gendarme numero trois was there to give the good news and le Grande Gendarme numero un drove to cash point.

We are in a van with a man to Belgium on Monday (not looking to travel on to the Nordics or Switzerland). North Wales anyone?
Total pisser on your holiday / break isnt it, France is bad enough but I would definitely swerving any riding in Switzerland nowadays...

One of our Emirati racers lost his life in car crash a couple of weeks ago. Last night about 75 riders met at the Dubai Autodrome for 2 laps, a minutes silence and then a touch of throttle opening to clear the engines....
Some laps of a circuit and a minutes silence...a great send off IMHO...beer

Great photos there! : thumbup:

I was driving up from Sandhurst to Cambridgeshire today, and stopped at my local Tesco to fuel up for the trip when a blue Suzuki X7 with spannies pulled in to top up. I had a chat with him (it seems he's my postie) and he was on his way to the Ace.

Then I stopped at Baldock services at the end of the A1(M) and that's where those 2 RDs were meeting on their way down so I had a chat with them as well, seeing as I was a serial RD owner in the past!

Quite a coincidence, but it was just great to see some 2-strokes out and about - God how I miss my KH500! frown

Loving the TDRs, ahead of their time.

Toying with buying this. I’ve been set on a later one in grey with gold wheels, but I do like this. It’s a 2006, anyone know when in 2006 they modified the vtec or how to tell the difference?

I’m also concerned I’ll find it hot (I’m in Australia) and heavy on the commute compared to my current CBR6F4. Any experience gratefully received.

A very bikey weekend for me, which is unusual these days. A day fixing my CCM after having to strip off the back end to get the carb off as it started running awfully. Lots of crap in the carb, and now running sweetly, now up for sale.

Dusted off the BM (literally checked tyre pressures) after 6 months or so of storage, took it for MOT and a blast out. I forget how good this bike is, fantastic fun.

2006 was the first year it was modified, so you should be grand! Why would it be any hotter?

They are slightly warmer than average. You'll get a bit more heat on your left thigh but nothing approaching something like a Ducati 1098. If you have a short commute get a scooter. Lugging big bikes on a commute in traffic in summer is a pain, but a breeze on a scooter.

When you're enduro riding round Andalucia, why not go via the beach at Marbella?
