A picture a day...biker banter (Vol 5)
Discussion
Waiting at airport to go on my hollypoppers. No more biking for a few weeks But making the best use of time drinking free Tanquery Ten and browsing PH.
Just back from Thunder in the Glens. Another great weekend with some fabulous bands, great banter, decent food and some biking thrown in.
Say what you will, but the predominantly Harley folks are very polite and friendly and accommodating of all bike brands.
Although despite all the Harleys there (and some looked very nice indeed) it’s the old Chief that gets the attention
Took the long way home via Grantown, Tomintoul, Cockbridge, Braemar and Glenshee to avoid the dreaded A9 and despite having the missus on board so taking it a bit more canny than normal it was a fabulous ride home in great weather.
Looking forward to next year’s.
Bonus points awarded for replies that include tractors, cuts, tats, road captains, beards etc. Anyway, we had a great time

That's usually me... But given the amount of bad blood on here recently, I will say this instead; glad you had the weather, love that road, and the bike looks good as ever.dern said:
Fair play to the amount of effort it takes to keep that clean. I could never have anything like this, I lack the discipline. Looks great.
killing time in airport #2 with more gins and PH...If I had a fiver for everyone that says it must be a pain to keep clean I could buy another. But on the contrary it’s the easiest bike I’ve ever had to keep clean. It’s 5 years old now with about 30,000 miles and gets ridden in all weathers - I named it ‘Chief Rain-in-the-Face’ not long after I got it as every time I went out it pissed down. The big mudguards keep a huge amount of crap off, so it’s just a hose down and then once-over with a spray polish and dry cloth. There is no exposed alloy to polish - it’s either chrome covered so just a wipe down, or black anodised that so far is still holding up. Biggest/only pain are the whitewalls where you really need to jack the bike up to turn then. All in all it’s about an hour from bike covered in crud to shiny bike again.
