I also owned one back in 2010/11 I think, paid £1000 for it, was scruffy around the edges and needed a little bit of TLC but I did a trackday with it, loads of road thrashing, whacked a box on it, rode it down to the South of France at a more or less constant 9,000RPM, ...sold it for £1400 a couple of Summers later. Would defintley have another.

I have similar (and very fond) memories of a K1 750 I bought off the first owner in 2015.
Should never have sold it but I was off to Gibraltar for a year or three so felt obliged to.

In hindsight, should have stuck it in Dads garage and kept it.
Sub 10k miles, absolutely stunning thing.

The other thread found me looking through some past pics. This was in December after a long ride through a rather chilly Spain and then arriving at the Mediterranean with a big ‘Woosah’...

I think you might be correct.
I recall thinking they were odd having two pipes on a single cylinder bike.
That was a big thing in the '20s and '30s.

Both 4 valves? Having two pipes makes for a simpler cylinder head casting?
I had an Aprilia Pegaso Strada as a commuter bike, that had the Yamaha 660 single, and that had two exhausts too.

Must be an advantage as it’s a lot of weight to add if not? Flow of the exhaust gasses?

That was a seriously odd restaurant that we parked opposite and ate in. We spoke no Spanish and he spoke no English. Do you remember my "Por favour Senor non pesci for me" what did I get. Fish.

Made a start on my track bike rattle can paint job. Everything will be going white and then will probably get Castrol decals to brighten it up a bit
