I'm staying with the standard exhausts (they are very light being Titanium) but with A&R race baffles
The A&R baffle made my 5vy so loud I took them off after a few runs out.I still have them in the shed.
With you using it every day, try and find someone that has done the mod before.
No way would mine pass a td noise limit with them on.

I also did mine on my 5VY... sounded fine and went through noise testing at 98db ... I still have them in the shed.

I’m not modifying the existing so have option to put it back if necessary.

Looks purposeful Mr OCD. How are those Power RS's getting on?
As an OCD antidote - new front 14T sprocket and DID Extra heavy duty gold chain fitted to the 1098S this weekend. Very satisfying to detail those bits you can't usually easily get to with the chain in place.
V.shiny...How you getting on with it Pete and why did you change the chain, bit more bling? As an OCD antidote - new front 14T sprocket and DID Extra heavy duty gold chain fitted to the 1098S this weekend. Very satisfying to detail those bits you can't usually easily get to with the chain in place.
I was changing the front sprocket anyway as it improves low speed usability in 2nd around town/30s, boosts 3rd and 4th nicely and makes 6th gear cruising at on Mways at legal speeds a bit less vibey without having to drop into 5th. Chain pure bling. The 9 year old OEM one was fine at 6000 miles, but was blacky/grey even after cleaning. I'm a tart.
Spend some time on the firestorm the last couple of days, servicing & cleaning it all up and hopefully resolving a small coolant leak which seems to have come about in the last few weeks while the bike has been sitting about...All the Hondas ive owned really are a PITA to work on compared to the Suzukis.

All makes sense, i shall change the storm chain, along with the corroded rear sprocket(lets the bike down and triggering my OCD switch) for a gold one at some stage next year, they do look so much nicer to the eye.

It's funny I find the same. Honda mx bikes are great to work on and well built but the road bikes takes an age to get to anything. My gsxr in comparison is much easier Spend some time on the firestorm the last couple of days, servicing & cleaning it all up and hopefully resolving a small coolant leak which seems to have come about in the last few weeks while the bike has been sitting about...All the Hondas ive owned really are a PITA to work on compared to the Suzukis.

I went for the DID extra heavy duty gold chain. They are pricey, but quality - and of course, gold - which is bestest.
There is no getting away from it - Hondas are tough to work on. Superbly engineered, but without much thought for the unfamiliar, hobbyist mechanic. Ducatis come apart in seconds. Suzukis are simple and nice to work on. Triumphs a kind of half Suzuki, half Kawasaki affair. Yamahas a bit more difficult. I guess out of all the bikes I've worked on, Suzuki have always been the most simple, and enjoyable, if not the best engineered (lots of gaps where water can get in and lot of electronics badly placed). Ducatis nice to work on, but poorly laid out - like each team that covers each bit has no communication with any of the other teams.
Incoming new addition to my garage on saturday to go alongside the Tuono and ZXR. Sold my thundercat the other day so got on to sourcing a replacement straight away. Pretty excited as I've always wanted one and the one I'm getting has a couple of nice bits such as Ohlins shock and steering damper.
