Little bit of fettling required before use but this has to be one of the best looking cockpits in motorcycling in my opinion
GP carb (and the scrambler front brake)... does that indicate that it's in full-on "no tickover, slip the clutch to 30, 70 in first, piss all over Norton Inters, win the Clubman's TT" commuting spec?

It's funny it absolutely stops everyone in their tracks. Loading/unloading it in a van and people were nearly crashing their cars looking at it
Got it as part exchange with another bike against something so it wasn't something I went looking for, but it's something I've always wanted to have a go on! We had a go at starting it and it was firing but wouldn't go. It's been standing since the mid 80s and the fuel taps and pipes were ruined so we've replaced those and it still won't go. It's gone off to a friend who's a Goldstar specialist who was bored and wanted to have a go at recommissioning it.
He's had a really good look over it and reckons it's got all the really good bits on it (including a quickly detachable headlight, which I didn't know!) plus all the usual RRT2 gearbox, GP carb etc.
We used to have a Rocket Goldstar which was a really nice thing but I've always preferred the DBD34.

New (to me) bike day on Saturday, I know there is mixed opinion about these but they have been on the want list for many years. So took the plunge.
Did 90 or so miles straight from picking it up. So far the MT-09 has not disappointed.
Seeing that makes me miss mine, such a wonderful bike!Did 90 or so miles straight from picking it up. So far the MT-09 has not disappointed.
I picked this up on Saturday – it's really rekindled my love of biking. I've been for a couple of post-dinner 50 mile rides once the baby's asleep, and I'm just enjoying aimless pootling running it in and lofting the front off every second and third-gear crest. It's sort of given me back the same wide-eyed, new-to-it joy I had when I passed my test 11 years ago. I have no real plans for it other than to run it in and use it as much as possible…

We just need a PH photo competition that specifies rules that photo is suitable for. For me it's the background as much as the bike. Edited by carinaman on Wednesday 5th August 23:16
