Sorry BN, not in reference to the above, but I just remembered I never responded to your post about meeting up. I can't speak for MTB, but I think my biking is effectively over this year. I've to return the Uganda Twin to Honda Finance next month, and my old CBR is needing me to fit coolant hoses and bodywork. So hopefully catch you, and others, in 2021 I hope!

Need opinions please gents...
Got a really nice original unmolested 1991 GSXR which still has the standard silencer on without the usual rash underneath. I also have a lovely period correct carbon Yoshimura can which is again in great condition and far far more aurally pleasing. Whenever I take it out it always draws a small gathering and I can’t help part of the appeal is the originality of the near 30 year old bike. I fitted the Yoshi today and it now sounds like the bike should. Does fitting the Yoshi remove that specialness and just make it another tidy GSXR, or am I overthinking it. I am torn 50/50 so curious to any opinions of others.

I'd say keep the original silencer safely tucked away. Someone will thank you for that, one day. Just look at all those CB750 and Z900 restorers frantically searching the globe for original systems.

Oh absolutely... standard exhausts are always the hardest to find when bikes become collectors items . Only takes about 15min to switch from one to the other so probably leave the Yoshi on for a while and then switch back. that's a great problem to have, dude. Personally I'd leave the yoshi on if it makes you happy and keep the OE for shows.Got a really nice original unmolested 1991 GSXR which still has the standard silencer on without the usual rash underneath.
