Managed to fill up without spilling any fuel on the tank. Hooray.

I'm not sure I'm quite ready for the full on bottomless chaps at Blue oyster vaping coa that's the modern cool thing

I mean I'm nearly there as I ride a gsxr which with the standard exhaust sounds like a sewing machine... But I can't bring myself to these

Spends £30k on bike. Saves £5 on fuel biggrin

Have you got a thread running on it?How are you finding an ev?
I didn't buy it – it's a press bike. I rode it on the press launch last year in Spain and really liked it. In the past two weeks I've had an electric car as well (Polestar 2) and I've found about 3 out of 4 chargers are either broken or… not very fast (even when they're meant to be). The LiveWire is a mega thing really, it handles like a decent naked, and the whole user experience is quite pleasant in terms of jumping on and just going. The weak areas are the brakes (a mass thing, really) and the price. It's worth trying to get a go on one, even if you're not ready to stump up £30k!

Oh, and you have to be ready for Harley jokes from Internet People.

I was thinking ….. "your brave posting that on this forum"

Then reconsidered and thought I'd add my EV experience …. chargers are often not broken but you need to do A,B,C then D to get Electricity, And some chargers the connector cable is heavy and pulls the connector away when docked so the connector wont "latch" causing error or broken symptoms,

But then as a 1200 Vtwin rider, The only true answer is … GO … GO NOW, Do not pass Go, Do not collect £200

Oh and hand your PH card in at the door on the way out thumbup

Electric bikes are the way forward. 'Specially for the Sunday sports bike blast mob.

I think a few would get a shock at how quick they can be, and lets face it, it's coming anyway.

If anything the Sunday fun bike will be the last bastion of internal combustion.

Was visiting a friend, when another mate turned up on this... early carbed Z1300, fitted with a Turbo and big bore 1440cc low compression pistons. All work by the owner... the modified Garrett turbo is from a Peugeot Diesel.

What's the real world range like?

I have an 85 mile a day (motorway speed) commute, so an electric car and bike would be ideal, I'm happy for an electric revolution (with decent range / charging speeds), I can't charge at work though, so need a guaranteed 85 mile winter range.

(I also can't afford the price tag on new electric vehicles, and don't trust 2nd hand battery life yet, so won't be switching at the moment but I'm excited by what's already on offer)

I think the Harley Live Wire looks great (incredibly considering it's such a traditional company for its other offerings, I also like the electric scooter they have teased for running around town)

After 18 months and 6000 miles its bye bye Z1000SX

And hello Z900RS Cafe

Picking it up on Fri, I was going to buy a brown Z900RS but this was 2 grand cheaper so it was a no brainer

The pic is one from a test ride I had 2 years ago, I took a pic of the bike in the shop with a potato camera, I got the custom seat thrown in, but I'm not 100% sure about it.

Haha I'm a changed man, I really rated the Z1000SX but it had a couple of niggles (impossible to read clocks which cost me 3 points and 100 quid, buffeting despite trying every aftermarket screen, and comfort despite a £350 quid sargent seat) that began to annoy, plus it was just a bit too competent at times, it also dropped out of 4th on a few occasions (around Island at Oulton was interesting) and its out of warranty now so it was time, it cost me very little to change and I fancied a modern retro as I'm riding a bit slower normally these days.

I test rode a new Ninja 1000SX which was just more of the same, much better clocks and a really nice qs/blipper but it would have been another 5k on top which I didn't think was worth it.

Just spent a productive couple of hours in the garage removing the healtech QS and my mounts and luggage and its ready to go to its new owner, who I'm sure will be very happy.
