Is that a V Strom?
They're a hoot, you need to grab em by the balls a bit though as the turn in can be a bit ponderous.
But they are a cracking engine, got good kit on them and cheap as chips vs the competition.

I borrowed one at the TT a few years ago and it was a great laugh over the mountain, 2 up!
Yes - the people who review / own them have clearly never ridden a KTM

Stupidly heavy, dull responses, the engine supposedly has the same power as my 950 but disguises it well, it feels like it weighs twice as much (rather than 40kg more) it wasn't helped by still having the OEM silencers, no sound ruins it for me.

Why do you buy bikes you think are crap? Do you not take a test ride?

You've really got to have a set of aftermarket exhausts on it to enjoy it. The worse thing for me is the instability at motorway speeds, but there are ways to mitigate that. I love mine though, it's perfect for what I need and I find it great fun. But couldn't have it as my only bike.

I've got a Superduke GT, which is better on every level, and so it should be, they're £17k and have sports wheels on them!.
But for 10k new with free finance, the V Strom is decent and will do 90% of what the Superduke does on road.

Maybe yours is a bit of a stter!? biggrin Just copy what you've written about how bad it is into your ad!

I believe the reviews !

We've had threads about test rides - it's hard to decent length test rides from private sellers plus they all seem to live in Cities and I only ride in the countryside.

So I just buy cheap bikes then if I don't like them, I sell them on for a profit

I was into 3 figures and it seemed fine, just dull - great for munching miles no doubt but I want to enjoy them

Dirty bike time.....

Apparently it's been too long since I've been in significant pain or suffering injuries requiring more than a dash of Germolene....

Added this to my garage today. 4 years old and only 667 k’s. Last owner kept it on display and hardly ever rode it.

I aim to rectify that over the next few months.

Been searching for a good spec Thruxton R and this ticked all the boxes !

Looks good thumbup Why do people buy these and not ride them? They look great but they are even better to ride. Be very wary once the road gritting starts. The engine cases and wheels don’t like it, unless you’re in a position to wash the bike after every ride. Mine is very much a March to October bike.

The original owner of my 2010 B-King was CEO of a large glasses outfit. He bought the bike brand new, fitted literally every possible crash bobbin/engine slider/fork slider known to man, and then stuck it in a large rotating glass cabinet in his house. It had covered under 500 miles in 5 years when second owner bought it, and now a further 5 years on has 2200 miles on it, the last 240 of which I’ve done in 2 weeks .

I don’t do many miles but even I don’t understand the ridiculously low miles some of these new bikes do after paying a fortune for them !?

Cracking bike BTW, love them but need something more upright for my buggered back and knees

I've been a bit quiet recently. A few weeks back while out for a ride to a cafe in MK called Super Sausage a good friend of mine from a silly rider error crashed and died. No more than 25mph, no cars, just a freak accident in a straight line. Really gives you an insight to how precious life is and I appreciate it

I went out Monday as my first ride since to her funeral - some 150 bikes and what an excellent send off. She loved the attention and definitely got it that day!!

I'll miss ya and hope you keep an eye on me when I get a bit carried away at times

RIP Chelsea x

Really sorry to hear that Birky, sounds horrible.

Looks like your friend got a good send-off though, clearly had a lot of friends who cared. If only we were all so lucky.

Sorry about your friend Birky.

I managed to get out for a couple of hours this afternoon as the weather was reasonable, once I'd picked the bike up off the floor (yes I dropped it in my garage as one of the floor mats caught on the sidestand) no damage apart from a mark on the casing but annoying as its only done a thousand miles, I think I'm almost done for the year now as I'm not a fan of riding in bulky gloves and textiles and having to clean all the ste off it every ride

Was this on the biker escorts Facebook page? Had I had a bike I'd have been there. Really awful thing to happen but the send off sounds very fitting at least.

Yep that's the one. Rode with her a lot mid week. She was crude, rude and proper my sense of humour. Was dating a guy races who gave an amazing speech. How he kept it together is beyond me that day. I couldn't if that was my wife
