I also went out for a short ride in the wonderful weather today. Just cleaned the bike so had to be done.

It's not fked but it's not fresh. Probably because I use it so much for slow speed cornering due to the crap fueling and snatchy throttle at low speeds.
You’ve got to be stting me.
Unless you mean stop/start or very slow traffic queues, or <5mph manoeuvres, I'm a bit lost too scratchchinconfused
Yep, two left hand first gear bends near my house and then again when I'm putting the bike away. The throttle is snatchy down low so I tend to drag the brake around the slow corners to keep the bike steady. They're both blind corner so I can't really cut out a wider line to avoid a slow turn.

I did have TuneECU on my old phone and the cable to go with it but I could never get the programme working properly so I never fiddled with the maps. It felt stronger and smoother with the race can on, so I presume it was mapped to suit that before I bought it. It's great everywhere other than at low speeds. When I got the bike back from Triumph last year, the throttle was harder and felt better, I suppose they had tweaked it when the handle bars were being replaced.

Regarding the rear hugger, I love the look of the T595 without it. I might give it a go.
Nope not having it. There’s no need to drag a rear brake round a corner at all, especially a 1st gear one.

Had a drive down to Oulton Park today to watch a number of escaped asylum patients riding in the cold.

This photo sums up the day.

I can only imagine. Peaked at 4 degrees on track here in Essex today

Quite a lowly bike compared to some of you guys but it's my first and I'm loving it. I passed my test in September so haven't had a chance to get many miles in but I'm out when I can. Yesterday was great and the first real time that I've truly enjoyed being out.

Fingers crossed for a decent summer so that I can really get some miles in.

Wow ! No way is that a “ lowly “ bike in any way , shape or form and an absolutely cracking bike to be on so soon after passing ! Don’t ever compare or put down any kit as there is something out there for everyone and one size does not fit all - our tastes and wishes and needs are all different - Vive la Difference - etc smile

I could agree more, we don’t all ride V4 Panigales and wear brand new Dainese leathers, many of us enjoy our bikes on a more limited budget, and many of us like spannering as much as riding.

My first solo longer ride on my MT07 since passing my test. Blithfield reservoir.
Such a great feeling. Mine was Nov 14th last year and I've had many, many rides out since but I remember almost everything about that 1st one.

My first bike was a GPZ500 (back in 1997) and certainly wasn’t as nice as that!

Yeah, we all like different stuff – a Panigale would scare the hell out of me (I do have a Dainese back protector, though…)

I am getting back on a bike after a few years out and wanted a middleweight retro for pottering around the country lanes.

This was delivered to me on Friday – bought on the basis of a few grainy photos and a chat with the dealer (who is an absolute gentleman).

Agreed! Those MT's are great little bikes and definitely a good first bike. My first was a shed of a GSX600F!

Some would argue my bike's haven't got much better, only more of them hehe

Not overly dramatic, more like a "Blueprint" with edges smoothed, valve & seats recut and blended into ports.
All this to a Daytona 190 with 4mm valve stems, which will have 212cc due to larger piston.
This "AniMax" moped project is begginning to scare me, in a good way.
Will take some weeks longer than planned because of work stuff getting in the way.

Cheers guys I appreciate your comments! The lads I was learning with were all after sports bikes between 800-1000cc but I wanted to stick with what I learnt on. I doubt I will ever get to Panigale levels of riding but I aspire to a Ducati Supersport.

Brembro finally fitted to the old ninja.

Then whilst giving the track bike a look over I discovered why I've had my ecu light on since June.

I ignored it as I assumed it was the usual exup valve. Problem is I can't get an exhaust header for love nor money new for this bike now. I'll have to get it welded and decat'd.

I never ever want to remove a exhaust with my hands, ring spanners and st loads of plus gas again. What a fking killer that was on a 12 year old bike. Luckily they all came out. If I can get it welded just be a case of new nuts, gaskets and boom.

looking out of the window at the snow coming down... big difference to my little ride out yesterday! Even more glad I went out for a couple of hours now

Only took the 125 as my missus' CBR600F didn't want to start and my R1 isn't finished yet. Still a good spin down to Westbay in Dorset and back.

Looking towards Somerset from Dorset

Sun on the sea at Westbay

5 BB points if you can guess the reservoir!

Sun setting in the field after my little day out. Not actually while I was on the bike but nice nonetheless

I started heading towards west bay yesterday, I got to bournemouth to meet up with a few people only to find it was all 125's so I gave it a miss and did some work to my boat instead.

Same happened to my R1, possibly because I've jacked it up under the headers countless times.

The spiral crack almost did a full circumnavigation. Local chap filled it with Argon gas and welded it up a treat and comically charged £20.
