What a nice example.. looks to be completely original?

Just bought this, 16k mile ‘98 SRAD, due to be delivered next Friday. smile

They’re such a great bike if you get a good one. Real stiff chassis very much like a race bike. Like a bigger 250 2 stroke really. And such a bargain still.
If it’s got nice plastics, I’d keep it stock for road duties. If you are going to take on track, change the plastics, them 98 panels are near impossible to find in good nick now.

Yep, the plan is to keep it stock and road use only. The dealer performed a detailed/covid rules video walk around of the bike, no broken, non original panels.. so I’m hoping all is ok.

Wasn’t the SRAD geometry/silhouette supposedly based on Kevin Schwantz 500GP bike.. or so the PR of the day goes?

I think I was also heavily influenced by Statham and 44Teeth BBB laugh

Cleaned and ACF’d my blade engine and polished pipes...

Not bad for a nearly 30 year old bike!

Picture of mine from all those years ago!

Wow! That’s brought back memories. Cool bike.

My mate had two at the same time when we were kids. An S and an R. The R. Did the R have a mono-shock? Something like that.
They sounded great with a chubby air filter on. We only ever used them on the fields.

That looks lovely. Well done.
Isn’t that a great BBB!! It had me searching for ZX7Rs and SRADs. I ended up with an old R1 instead.

I’ve had the itch to come back to biking for a couple of years but the 44T lads made me do it. Great videos. They’re a right laugh.

Another bike Wayne, your garage must be nearly full now.

Looks great.

Guess you just need the paddock jacket over the leathers and white Simpson bandit helmet for the full effect.

Not ridden the road bike in 2 weeks. Now at 15,500 miles and the chain is looking a bit kinked in places so thought I'd spoil it

Just need to get round to fitting now...

I can’t recall there being a version of the XL models that were R compared to S?

There may have been, it was a long time ago though, so I might have not seen them.

There were of course the XR models, which were more odd road focused, I think they had a mono shock.

Thanks so much, I am pleased with it. smile
Totally agree, by far their best BBB.. I believe they have bought the bikes back to update & modify, and then put up against their modern day equivalents? That’ll be a cracking continuation of the ZX7R/SRAD story thumbup

Cheers Alan.. yep, 4 bikes is just about right while still giving me the ability to get around the garage and work on the bikes.

Funny you should mention a Simpson Bandit.. Had this around 30 years now. Can’t bring myself to dispose of it.. It just looks good on the shelf biggrin
