So, a standard 1947 Indian Chief - I got 0-60 in 3.9 seconds
OK, it was on the trailer at the time, but who said anything about doing it under its own power?

‘Girder forks only’ run on Saturday round Aberdeenshire; great day but Baltic. It was bloody freezing. The more I ride old bikes the more I like them - just as much fun as the modern stuff but you really have to think about your gear changes (crash box), braking (crap brakes) and lines.

Ill have get up yonder to be a back marker again soon.
There's only me left! everyone else has either crashed out, given up or moved abroad, there are no more NW rideouts and I've done 500 miles this year Loved the couple of rides i had with you lot.
Garage updates.
The K1300R was sold for not a lot of money as it was near 80,000 miles, no service history and had quite a few issues that needed sorting too. Serviced regularly but I’m so bad at doing the book, even hand writing it in my self!
Replaced with a 2018 S1000XR 5 weeks and 4,000 miles ago. Looked at the new one but the numbers don’t really make sense with my mileage to go new. Quite like the XR but it’s not a keeper, a year or so for work I’d guess.
The K6 GSXR I bought in January has done nearly 2,000 miles with around 200 of them on the road.

Took advantage of the quieter roads after the football last night and found a few short, twisty sections while doing some exploring. I'm usually too interested in riding to stop somewhere for pictures but made the effort to go back for this one, probably quite a common one for those in and around Bedfordshire.
Mid week ride after work. Started off great, see a few spots of rain on my visor, then would stop, then a fair bit but tarmac looked ok, then stopped, then shiny tarmac but barely spitting
Not sure if others find that the most frustrating weather to ride in! I'd rather it just rain or be dry - especially when on supercorsa and it goes from loads of grip to no grip
Nice ride into Finchingfield though
Just a few miles from home it really rained loads (and yet bone dry at finch) and I got soaked... I did leave a lovely butterfly on my seat though

What do you guys with the 701’s think of them? Love the styling and thinking about chopping the 765RS in for one.
Lightweight, great brakes and suspension and enough power to have fun without being daft. On twisty roads with the right rider very little would stay with it, throw in a few straights and the bigger stuff would edge ahead. I absolutely love it.However the 765RS is only a little heavier, top notch brakes and suspension and what 50 bhp more. In comparison I wonder if the 701 would feel a little lacking

Goes, handles and stops excellently. In fact how it handles so well on those semi-knobbly tires is quite impressive. It'll even do a bit of soft-roading if you're so inclined. Doesn't get much press in the middleweight comparisons for whatever reason, but I've previously owned a newer SV650 and a CB650R and the 701 is miles ahead. You might miss the extra grunt of the Triple but up to sensible speeds there'll be nowt in it, depends how fast you like going.... Quickshifter and fully adjustable suspensions as standard, less than £8k brand new, a relative bargain in my eyes. Negatives are a sparse dealer network, hasn't got a fancy screen if you're into that kinda thing and if you're a larger lad or lass you might find the seat uncomfortable. I did 500 miles in 24 hours over the weekend just gone though and my arse was fine. Can't comment on reliability, only 3 months/1700 miles in.

I had some time off last week, and just went for some random unplanned rides. It was fantastic - its been a while since I've just got on the bike without any plan.
Sigh, seeing this makes me regret selling mine last year however new bike on its way and 600 miles in two years, I moved it on.
