It is fantastic news, so good that a new road race is being allowed. I sincerely hope that it is a success. I have just registered as a competitor, so fingers crossed I get in!

Taff TT !!

That looks good. Liked Plater's commentary (don't worry about the sheep .....). One for our diary next year I think.

Presume this could have been used before as MoD land rather than public highway.

Still looking for a road to close in Cornwall to run a hill-climb on - personally think this is the future of closed roads racing in the immediate future rather than full blown road racing.

They need to get a supermoto class in there, I reckon that'd be great on those roads having seen the vid with Steve Plater.

I was a bit intrigued by this, as far as I understand the roads are Private (i.e. owned by the MoD and not the council) with some permitted public access when the Army aren't doing exercises. I think the straight from the start to Picadilly is public access, and is shown yellow on the OS map. The roads have frequently been used for stage rallying, and currently closed-public-road rallying is not permitted in Wales. Rallying on Epynt is so famous and so notorious that there's a book about it:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Epynt-Rallying-History-Ma...

But the article seems to imply that the Welsh Road Race has been enabled by the new legislation. Which isn't in place in Wales yet (although it is in England).

It looks interesting, narrow difficult new track to negotiate with no hedgerows to follow. My inlaws live in Aberystwyth and we normally make our summer visit to see them on the last weekend of July, suffice to say that I've suggested that we delay it by a week next year smile Hopefully the weather will be decent again and I can meet the wife there, me on a bike, her in the car.

Anyone know if there is an official campsite for this? The website is a bit confusing.

Not a surprise IMO. To get canned will be that proposed circuit in NI.

Why they started selling tickets before actually having the circuit getting the green light is beyond me.
