hardly surprising ( to me ) that i have owned quite a few of the bikes in this thread. Still have some of them. I can recall the time when i genuinely did not believe I would see a Desmosedici RR in the flesh, much less own one. Now have 3. ( one is a parts bike)
Sorry for being nosey, but why do you have three?

Why do you need a "parts" bike?

Although I love 1990’s Japanese sports bike, I’ve always wanted an early 1970’s US Spec T120 Bonnie, I think it’s as close to perfection as a motorcycle should be. There is not a bad angle, it’s just stunning. They probably ride like ste, but that’s not the point.

Pfffttt... had one. A crock of st. Bulbs would vibrate themselves to pieces on a daily basis, the gear change was awful. I gave up trying to find neutral and god alone knows exactly which joint was weeping and Meriden ran a mile screaming when I tried to invoke the guarantee. Last British bike I bought new.

That said - it was very pretty and in the same colour scheme as your photo. But my dream bike??? Ducati 900 Mike Hailwood Replica. I owned a 750S (non-Desmo) and a 900SS but the MHR eluded me.

I fell in love with Hendersons the first time I saw one, at the Banbury Run (I think it as going to be auctioned soon afterwards)

I have no idea how they'd be to ride, but this is one of the coolest looking machines I've ever seen:

I'd dearly love to have a go on one...anyone?

I'd say mine was a classic Bonneville. I bought one two years ago, but I'm selling it soon. I have two other classics that are a bit more rough and ready and no space for a fourth bike so no modern bike. If I only had one classic or more space I'd be keeping it, but it's a bit too nice to fk around with other than maintenance, and also to just pound up and down the dual carriageway on my commute (plus a modern bike will do that better).
Lovely bike though, I'd recommend one to anyone as a first British classic.

yes

I remember the story about them setting the top speed, they were in some cafe and it was pissing down and freezing. Think it was Mark and Rupert that just made up a number! But, this was the same mag that put a smoke bomb down that AR 125 with the KX engine biggrin

Simpler times.

Britten for me too!

Had an RC30 - nice bike but they are now revered to almost comical level and seemingly just a place to store your wealth these days.
